We are looking to hire a Sr Engineer who will serve as a tech lead. The tech lead for the Digital Customer Experience (DCX) team is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the architectural integrity, scalability, and performance of our backend ecosystem. This role bridges the gap between high-level solution architecture and engineering execution, owning the delivery of critical cloud infrastructure, edge routing, and Java-based micro-services
 

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Core Backend: Lead the backend engineering track, driving code quality, architecture, and robust delivery using Java/J2EE and the Spring Framework for micro-services.

• Architecture, Cloud & DevOps: Partner with the Solution Architect to design and maintain high-availability systems leveraging AWS services, Cloudflare, and containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes).

• AI-Driven Productivity: Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Gemini, Copilot, Claude). The lead must be adept at utilizing these tools to rapidly learn and deliver on the job, while actively coaching the development team to use them to maximize efficiency and output.

• Complex Problem Solving: Act as the primary technical problem solver for the team, translating complex business use cases and intricate requirements into scalable, clean, and highly performant technical solutions

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional experience in enterprise software application development.
• Core Backend Stack: Strong hands-on expertise in Java/J2EE and building microservices architectures using Spring Boot.
• Distributed Systems: Deep foundational and architectural knowledge of highly scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Database Architecture: Solid hands-on experience working with relational databases (SQL) and/or Big Data / NoSQL storage systems.
• Cloud Infrastructure: 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining applications on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), including experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Troubleshooting & Reliability: Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues end-to-end across cloud layers (Application, Database, Network, and Integration).

Other Qualifications:

• Frontend Development: Familiarity or hands-on experience with modern UI development frameworks, preferably React.js
• Edge & CDN: Experience configuring and managing Cloudflare for DNS, CDN caching, WAF, and edge performance optimization
• Content Platforms: Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and modern CMS architectural best practices
• Mentorship & Execution: Demonstrated ability to dissect complex problems, mentor engineering peers, author clear technical documentation, and quickly adapt to emerging tools and frameworks
