As Director of Product Management, Value Added Solutions, you own the strategy, roadmap, and P&L for NMI's Value Added Solutions business line. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will set direction, lead a small but impactful team of Product Managers and Designers, and stay deeply hands-on: joining customer calls, negotiating with partners, working with engineers to create and deliver a meaningful roadmap, collaborating and advocating with multiple cross-functional teams across NMI, and making the hard product calls when needed.

This is a remote role based in the US.

NMI, a global leader in payment technologies, allows software and sales professionals to deliver payment innovations to their clients without having to build payment expertise in house. NMI enables our partners with choice, and challenges the one-size-fits-all approach to payments. You've probably used NMI in the last 24 hours without even realizing it. We're the platform that powers success for innovative tech created by SMBs, entrepreneurs and fintech startups. We're creative problem solvers who help visionaries smash through boundaries and think beyond what's possible so they can think about what's next. But we're not just built for the tech savvy. We democratize the latest payments technology so that everyone can realize the benefits of easy payments across the full spectrum of commerce. Our mission is to use our expertise to enable more payments, in more ways and more places. We provide ISOs, Fintech Innovators and Technologists the freedom to focus on what they do best, liberating them from restricted payment solutions and giving them access to the latest payment technology now and in the future.

  • Be a Good Person, It's Simple. We treat everyone fairly and with respect. We lead with kindness, humility and integrity. We take the time to understand each other and our customers. And we serve with care, because customers are never a transaction, and always our focus
  • Align, Trust & Go. We debate openly, listen carefully and challenge thoughtfully. Once we decide, we move forward together - holding ourselves accountable to our commitments, and focusing on what matters most to our customers. That alignment creates momentum.
  • Raise the Bar. Good enough isn't enough. We stay curious, measure everything, stay honest about progress and keep pushing ourselves to think creatively. We drive change, again and again. And leave things better than we found them. When we raise the bar, our customers feel it too.

Value Added Solutions is one of NMI's highest-growth product areas. Our partners want more than payment processing: they want the surrounding capabilities that help their merchants run and grow a business, and they want those capabilities delivered through the platform they already use. That demand is expanding faster than any single team can build against, which makes disciplined choices about what to build, what to buy, and when to partner central to this role.

The Value Added Solutions line spans a portfolio of products, some built in house and some delivered through third parties. You will own that portfolio end to end: which products earn continued investment, which new ones are worth launching, how they reach market through our partner channel, and what each one contributes to the bottom line.

While there are existing products to maintain, this is largely a build role. You will be setting strategy in a space that is moving fast, with real revenue goals and growing partner demand.

  • Own the product vision, multi-year roadmap, strategy, and P&L for NMI's Value Added Solutions (VAS) product line.
  • Drive business development and growth of the channel: determine whether to invest in existing products or integrate and launch new ones, backed by substantiated business cases with clear revenue targets, margin expectations, and partner adoption metrics.
  • Rank VAS opportunities by upside, effort, and speed to market, and screen each for SMB fit, GTM practicality, and channel enablement.
  • Build the ROI and revenue projections behind every build, buy, or partner decision, and track actuals against them.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to drive adoption, growth, and customer satisfaction across the portfolio, including cross-sell and upsell into NMI's existing partner base of 6,000+ ISOs and ISVs and the millions of merchant customers they support.
  • Build tight feedback loops with Sales, Account Management, and Support, using their partner relationships and frontline insight to validate ideas early, pilot with the right partners, and adjust quickly after launch.
  • Facilitate partner advisory board sessions for additional insights in coordination with Marketing.
  • Lead your existing and new products across functions including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Support, and establish the compliance, risk, and operational frameworks each solution needs.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership on architecture, integration approach, and operational readiness for new and existing solutions.
  • Own a repeatable launch playbook that cuts time to market, identifying the efficiencies and automation that standardize how new products roll out.
  • Serve as the key business owner of third-party contracts executed in service of Value Added Solutions, from commercial terms through ongoing performance.
  • Develop a deep understanding of partner and merchant use cases and translate them into a differentiated product strategy.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and customer interests by visiting key customers, attending conferences, participating in webinars, and reading industry material, using those insights to shape competitive positioning, pricing, and roadmap decisions.
  • Become a thought leadership advocate for NMI: participate in podcasts, write blogs and articles, and speak at industry conferences.
  • Participate in planning cadences with Product and Engineering, including ideation, intake, quarterly planning, annual planning, retrospectives, showcases, and hackathons.
  • Build, manage, and develop a team of Product Managers and Designers: set OKRs, maintain growth plans, run performance management, and lead by example in the craft of product management, AI, and payments.
  • Contribute to NMI's product culture by sharing market insights, mentoring PMs across value streams, and participating in hiring and onboarding.
  • Use AI tools actively in your workflow (spec writing, competitive analysis, customer feedback synthesis, discovery acceleration) and show your team how to incorporate AI into their own ways of working.

  • 8+ years in product management with at least 5 years in payments or financial services, and at least 3 years managing a team of geographically distributed PMs, with a track record of developing talent in a fast-paced, high-performance business unit.
  • Hands-on experience owning a portfolio of products rather than a single feature set, including data-driven decisions to build, buy, partner, or sunset.
  • Experience building prioritization frameworks and ROI-based business cases.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and growing revenue-generating products: defining pricing, owning a product P&L, driving partner GTM execution, and connecting every product decision to revenue impact, partner growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience owning commercial relationships with third-party vendors or technology partners, including contract negotiation and ongoing performance management.
  • Player/coach mentality: you write the strategy doc and still review the acceptance criteria and participate in UAT. You don't disappear into leadership abstraction.
  • Strong commercial instincts: you connect every product decision to revenue impact, partner growth, merchant volume, and customer satisfaction.
  • Deep experience working directly with customers (defining personas, jobs to be done, and feedback loops) and using data-driven insights to identify key performance drivers and inform prioritization.
  • Exceptional execution skills with a bias towards action: you operate in ambiguity, build structure where none exists, and adapt rapidly to shifting priorities.
  • Fluent with AI tools for product work: you use them daily and expect your team to do the same.
  • Exceptional communicator, comfortable presenting a three-year vision to the C-suite, walking a new partner through product details, and representing NMI publicly on a conference stage, all in the same week.
  • Experience launching products through an ISO, ISV, or reseller channel.
  • Experience integrating third-party technology into a platform and taking it to market under your own brand.
  • Experience leading a product through a corporate acquisition, including integration strategy, platform consolidation, and team culture alignment.
  • SaaS or B2B embedded finance background.
  • MBA or equivalent experience in high-growth fintech.
