Sales Representative - Queen's Journal

Job Summary  The Queen’s Journal is an entirely student-run newspaper at Queen’s University. The paper was founded in 1873 and has been continually published ever since. The Journal publishes a bi-weekly print edition and regular online content throughout the year.  Job Competencies  Communication  Organization  Ownership  Attention to Detail   Cultural Sensitivity  Creativity   Job Duties  Actively seek advertising opportunities for The Journal, targeting mostly local businesses, the AMS, and Queen’s University (potential to go beyond these organizations)  Report directly to the Business Manager with weekly updates  Regularly communicate with existing clients and complete cold calls to attract new clients  Maintain good relationships with past clients  Attend all training sessions to become familiar with the department and adhere to the general operations of the department      Respect and adhere to all company policies, procedures and ethical standards   Maintain timely communication with the Business Manager   Attend and fully participate in all in person and virtual meetings   Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and attentively   Strive to foster a warm, comfortable and respectful atmosphere   Always serve as a representative of the AMS and its mission statement   Complete other job duties as assigned  Job Requirements  Possess strong organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment  Working Conditions  Interaction and collaboration with coworkers, management and the Queen’s community
