Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and relentless in driving accountability, audit remediation, and control excellence across a complex global environment?

Partner with the best

Baker Hughes is a global energy technology company serving customers across more than 120 countries. Our People & Culture (P&C) function plays a critical role in enabling business success by delivering scalable, compliant, and high-quality people solutions across a complex, global environment.

The P&C – Compliance & Governance supports the execution of People & Culture (P&C) governance, internal controls, compliance, and audit-related activities. This role plays a key part in monitoring control effectiveness, coordinating audit and remediation activities, maintaining governance documentation, and ensuring P&C processes remain compliant, auditable, and aligned with company requirements.

While the primary focus of the role is Internal Controls & Compliance (ICC), the position also provides support for P&C Policy Governance and P&C M&A Due Diligence & Integration initiatives as business needs arise.

Fuel your passion

The P&C Specialist – Compliance & Governance will be part of the People & Culture Compliance & Governance team and play a key role in supporting the execution and continuous improvement of P&C internal controls, compliance, and governance activities.

This role is best suited for a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized professional who thrives on driving accountability, coordinating complex activities, and ensuring commitments are completed in a timely and sustainable manner. The position will primarily support Internal Controls & Compliance (ICC) activities, including audit readiness, remediation tracking, governance monitoring, and control effectiveness reviews. The role will also have opportunities to contribute to P&C Policy Governance and P&C M&A Due Diligence & Integration initiatives.

As a P&C Quality Assurance Specialist, you will help with:

  • Supporting the execution and monitoring of P&C internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and governance requirements.

  • Coordinating internal and external audit activities, including evidence collection, documentation management, stakeholder engagement, and audit response tracking.

  • Tracking audit findings, remediation plans, corrective actions, and closure evidence to support timely and sustainable issue resolution.

  • Supporting control testing, governance reviews, approval matrix validation, and control effectiveness monitoring activities.

  • Identifying process gaps, control weaknesses, and compliance risks, while supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintaining governance documentation, control inventories, trackers, dashboards, metrics, and leadership reporting related to controls and compliance.

  • Supporting the governance, review, maintenance, and publication of P&C policies, standards, and related documentation.

  • Assisting with P&C due diligence, integration, and separation activities related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other business transformation initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will require to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience in internal controls, compliance, governance, audit support, risk management, process improvement, shared services, or related operational environments.
  • Experience coordinating audits, managing remediation activities, maintaining documentation, and tracking deliverables through closure.
  • Ability to review policies, procedures, controls, approvals, process documentation, and supporting evidence to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause assessment skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and follow through on commitments across all organizational levels.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting, dashboard creation, tracking, and executive-level presentations.
  • Experience with Workday, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Power BI, Tableau, audit management tools, or other HR and governance systems.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, audit methodologies, policy governance, M&A integration, compliance frameworks, or project management practices.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, Audit, Risk, Compliance, or Project Management certification is an advantage.
