Belvedere Trading is a leading proprietary trading firm proudly headquartered in downtown Chicago. Our traders work hard to provide liquidity to the market through their market-making activities and are the masters of a diverse set of commodities, interest rates, exchange-traded funds (ETF), and equity index options. From the beginning, we began iteratively investing in our proprietary technology and committing to building our systems from the ground up. Our trading models and software systems are continually re-engineered, optimized, and maintained to stay on top of the industry.

Our People Team department focuses on delivering employee-first solutions to the business. We go all-out to understand and support our team member's needs, leverage data to gain insights and trends, and advance our human-capital-related applications for efficiency and consistency.   We look for passionate team members that excel and their contribution is critical to our continued success.  The People Team is comprised of Employee Experience, People Operations, Talent, and People & Development. These groups work closely together to bring in the best talent for Team Belvedere and from day one, make sure that all team members have all the tools they need to succeed and develop through their tenure.

Belvedere Trading is hiring a People Operations Generalist to join our People Team. This role sits at the analytical core of the function: you'll own People analytics and the HRIS as our system of record, along with compensation market data, the performance review program, and offboarding. You'll own the data and systems that tell us what's happening across the employee lifecycle and help shape how the function evolves as the firm scales.

The ideal candidate will carry People analytics and HRIS ownership at a more analytical level than administration: defining metrics, maintaining data integrity, and empowering managers and leaders to use the data to make decisionsThe right person has enough analytical rigor to earn credibility with leaders, and enough People Operations depth to own programs that scale across the full employee lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who wants real ownership over how a growing People function measures itself, likes working closely with a small team, and wants to build something rather than jusmaintain it.

  • Drive People analytics end to end: define the metric set, build the reporting infrastructure, and deliver the headcount, hiring, turnover, and performance reporting leaders use.

  • Supply and pressure-test the people data behind key workforce questions across the employee lifecycle, and work with the People Partners to turn it into recommendations leaders can act on.

  • Own the People Operations side of the HRIS and internal Portal, including configuration, access, integrations, and data hygiene.

  • Lead compensation market intelligence and benchmarking, test bands and guidelines against market movement, and partner with the People Partner to model costs and recommend compensation actions.

  • Manage the performance review program from design through completion reporting and run the promotion/leveling cycle with the analysis behind it.

  • Run offboarding end to endcoordinating across People, legal, and payroll, and turn exit data into retention insight.

  • Automate manual work and continuously improve how People processes run.

  • Support the broader employee lifecycle alongside the People Operations team, including onboarding, benefits and leave, and day-to-day employee questions.

  • 3+ years in a Generalist, People Analytics, HR/Compensation, or a related analytical role, with real ownership of data, metrics, or systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, equivalent experience considered.

  • Advanced Excel skills, with a track record of building and auditing complex models.

  • Able to assemble your own datasets from multiple sources rather than relying on canned reports; SQL or similar querying experience is a plus.

  • Proven ability to build reporting that others use, in Power BI or a comparable tool.

  • Hands-on experience owning or administering an HRIS, including configuration, data integrity, and vendor management. Experience with Paycom, Culture Amp, and an HRIS migration is a plus.

  • Experience with compensation and market benchmarking data, or strong analytical rigor that transfers directly.

  • Sound judgment handling confidential People data — compensation, performance, and employee relations — including who should have access to what.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and resourceful, someone who spots what's broken or missing and fixes it without waiting to be asked.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate data into recommendations People partners and leaders can act on.

  • Able to run multiple concurrent workstreams (analytics, comp, performance cycle, offboarding)

Women and underrepresented groups frequently apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications.
We encourage you to break that mold and apply. No candidate is perfect; all have a lot to offer. We welcome your application.
