Position Overview The Sommelier is responsible for curating and managing the restaurant’s wine program while delivering an elevated guest experience through thoughtful recommendations, pairings, and service. This role is suited for a candidate with a strong passion for wine, hospitality, and creating memorable dining experiences. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a well-balanced and diverse wine list Provide personalized wine recommendations and pairing suggestions to guests Execute professional wine service, including presentation, opening, and pouring Promote wine sales through guest engagement and staff education Train and educate staff on wine knowledge, pairings, and service standards Manage inventory, procurement, and proper storage of wine Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal pairing menus Conduct wine tastings for staff and guests Ensure compliance with all local alcohol laws and regulations Maintain cleanliness and organization of wine storage areas Requirements Minimum 12 months of experience in a sommelier or fine dining beverage role Strong knowledge of wine regions, varietals, tasting notes, and food pairings Certification (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, etc.) preferred but not required Excellent communication and guest service skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Fluent English required Professional appearance and demeanour.
