Role Overview
 
The Account Manager will be responsible for working closely with Hera’s largest customers in the launch services industry – supporting the highest-growth space launch systems in the world. You will be a critical contributor to enable the success of our customers’ missions through white glove support; available where they need us, when they need us to ensure successful delivery of our products and services. You’ll be the thermal protection systems subject matter expert and the chief solutions architect solving the hottest problems in the world.
This role serves as the bridge between our customers’ procurement/engineering functions and the broad capability set housed within Hera and the Canopy A&D platform. You’ll be empowered to take ownership immediately of programs spanning one or multiple customers.
 
 
  • Manage key relationships with our customers; building trust, staying hyper organized, and proactively solving problems
  • Interface with customers concerning purchase orders and contracts, ensuring that the projects are clearly defined
  • Work closely with Program Managers and attend internal and external program meetings to ensure projects are on time and within budget
  • Conduct regular check-ins, business reviews, and status updates
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, RFQs, and order changes
  • Orchestrate cross-functional teams across multiple sites to deliver products and services
  • Support the development of technical workplans alongside engineers and production specialists to solve our customers’ problems
  • Develop a deep knowledge of our customers’ mission requirements and Hera’s capabilities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned – all roles at Canopy A&D are dynamic and evolving to meet the needs of our customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business from an accredited organization, or equivalent work experience learned from hands-on work to build and refurbish rockets
  • Familiarity with thermal protection system (TPS) materials – cork, paints, flexible TPS, ceramics, and more
  • Multiple years of experience working in the launch services industry in roles related to hardware development or supply chain management
  • Proficient in MS Office products used to organize work and communicate professionally
  • Direct experience working hands-on with materials procurement or engineering within one of the major launch providers on-base at Kennedy Space Center or Cape Canaveral Space Force Station
  • 1-2 years of hands-on business development experience in an advanced technical field
  • Familiarity and a passion for supporting US government missions (NASA interplanetary exploration, US DOD in-space asset strategies) and launch requirements frameworks (i.e. NSSL)
    • Must have professional working proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English
    • Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments with occasional exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, industrial equipment, and temperature variations
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation
    • Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, keyboarding, and mouse use
    • Ability to view computer screens for prolonged periods
    • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email
    • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments

    Base Salary Range: $90,000 to $130,000
    Business Hours: Core hours
    Base Location: Cape Canaveral, FL
    Travel: 10-25%
     
     

    Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

    Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance. 401K company match (eligibility required), paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
