Embark on an exciting journey with Coreso, a dynamic and fast-paced company at the forefront of the European energy landscape. As a Regional Coordination Centre (RCC), Coreso plays a crucial role in coordinating high-voltage electricity flows for European Transmission System Operators (TSOs), ensuring the security of electricity supply on a regional basis.
To support our mission, we are looking for a Platform Engineer to ensure that business-critical applications and platform services remain available, secure, performant and operationally supported.
You will be responsible for the platforms that host and support Coreso applications, including OpenShift, Kubernetes, Airflow, MinIO, monitoring solutions and supporting middleware services. You will work closely with software engineers, data engineers, architects and security specialists to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.
This role combines platform operations, automation, troubleshooting, incident response and application support within a 24/7 operational environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min readEnsure business-critical applications remain operational and available.
Monitor application and platform health, support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
Lead or contribute to root-cause analysis for platform incidents and ensure that agreed corrective, preventive and follow-up actions are recorded, prioritised and tracked to completion.
Support application deployment and production releases.
Participate in on-call and operational support rotations.
Maintain operational documentation and support procedures.
Operate and support OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms.
Manage Airflow orchestration services and platform dependencies.
Support MinIO object storage services.
Maintain platform middleware and supporting services, platform upgrades, patching and lifecycle activities.
Monitor platform performance and capacity.
Develop automation scripts and operational tooling, implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.
Reduce manual operational activities through automation.
Improve deployment and operational processes.
Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions.
Define and improve operational dashboards, ensure meaningful metrics and actionable alerts.
Contribute to incident analysis and service reporting.
Apply security-by-design principles.
Support vulnerability management and platform patching.
Manage secrets, certificates and access controls.
Contribute to compliance and audit activities.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
Reduce operational risk and technical debt.
Contribute to platform roadmaps and future architecture decisions.
Share knowledge and support team development.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
Experience supporting production-critical platforms and applications.
Experience working in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
Experience with operational support and incident management.

Help reduce dependency on external support providers.
Ensure Coreso applications remain stable, secure and available.
