About the Role

~1 min read

We're looking for a Talent Acquisition & HR Coordinator to join our HR team at Destination Canada!

Reporting to the HR Director, you'll help us attract and hire great people, supporting our talent acquisition lead throughout the recruitment process while also taking the lead on recruitment for certain roles yourself.  And there's more to the role than recruitment: You'll be involved in everything from onboarding new employees and coordinating HR projects to working with our HR systems (UKG and Greenhouse), administering our employee recognition program, keeping our intranet up to date, and planning and delivering employee events.

What we're especially looking for is someone who loves finding better ways of doing things. You're curious about technology, including AI, and excited by the possibilities it creates. You enjoy getting into the nuts and bolts of a system, quickly figuring out how new tools work, and finding creative ways to use technology and improve processes.

At Destination Canada, we're passionate about HR done right: smart, strategic and people-focused. If you're a detail-oriented, highly organized person who takes pride in getting things right, enjoys coordinating activities and processes, and loves finding better ways of working, we'd love to hear from you!

  • Recruitment Coordination: Supports recruitment processes by coordinating and carrying out activities such as job postings, application screening, pre-screen interviews, assessments, interview scheduling, reference and security checks, and candidate communications.

  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manages end-to-end recruitment for select positions, partnering with hiring managers throughout sourcing, evaluation, selection, and offer processes.

  • Recruitment Experience: Provides responsive and professional service to candidates and hiring managers, ensuring clear communications, timely follow-up, and a positive, well-coordinated recruitment experience.

  • Employment Documentation & Lifecycle Changes: Prepares offer letters, employment contracts, and documentation for employee changes, including extensions, promotions, and transfers, and processes related updates in HR systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

  • Employee Onboarding: Coordinates onboarding activities, including documentation, HR system workflows, orientation scheduling, and practical arrangements that help new employees get started.

  • Process and Systems Improvement: Identifies and implements practical improvements to recruitment and HR workflows, including optimizing system functionality, reducing manual work, introducing automation, and supporting the adoption of new tools and technologies.

  • Employee Engagement: Coordinates employee engagement activities, internal events, recognition programs, and workplace initiatives that contribute to a positive employee experience.

  • HR Administration: Provides day-to-day administrative and coordination support across HR functions and programs, including processing routine HR requests and transactions, preparing correspondence and presentations, maintaining accurate and organized employee records and HRIS, and supporting a range of HR initiatives as needs evolve.

  • Project Coordination: Supports the planning and coordination of HR projects and initiatives, including organizing activities, tracking timelines and deliverables, coordinating with stakeholders, and following up on action items to keep projects moving forward.

  • HR Services: Provides responsive, day-to-day HR support to employees, responds to routine inquiries about HR policies, procedures and programs.
