Job Summary:
The Inventory Management Specialist will be responsible for leading the integration between shopping, reshopping, and pricing systems with Real-Time Data Processing (RTDP) for inventory management. The role focuses on seamless data flow, real-time inventory adjustments, and pricing optimization to maximize revenue and enhance operational efficiency. The specialist will work closely with IT, Revenue Management, and Commercial teams to ensure pricing and inventory strategies align with business goals.
Must-Have Skills (Mandatory):
- 3-5 years of experience in pricing and inventory management, particularly in the airline or travel industry.
- Hands-on experience with RTDP integration for inventory management.
- Proficiency in API-based pricing and inventory management system integration with a focus on real-time data processing (RTDP).
- Strong understanding of dynamic pricing models, fare distribution, and inventory control methodologies.
- Excellent data analysis skills with experience in SQL, Excel, and business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large datasets and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Good-to-Have Skills (Optional):
- Knowledge of API integration processes, distributed architectures, and real-time processing systems.
- Experience with NDC (New Distribution Capability) and familiarity with IATA standards for fare distribution.
- Prior experience with revenue management systems such as Sabre, Amadeus, or other airline booking platforms.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, IT, or a related field.
- Certifications in pricing, revenue management, or API integration (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Integration with RTDP (Inventory Management)
- Oversee RTDP integration with inventory management systems to ensure real-time inventory availability across all booking channels.
- Ensure real-time updates to seat inventory and fare class availability based on bookings, cancellations, and revenue management decisions.
- Work closely with IT teams to enhance system integration between RTDP and pricing platforms, ensuring accurate real-time pricing and distribution.
- Minimize data latency by ensuring seamless processing between inventory systems and external platforms.
2. Pricing and Inventory Strategy Development
- Develop dynamic pricing strategies based on real-time data, market analysis, and competitor pricing.
- Utilize Vayant and RTDP capabilities to ensure pricing flexibility and competitiveness.
- Optimize inventory allocation using historical data, demand forecasts, and revenue management insights.
- Monitor pricing performance and inventory allocation to ensure optimal fare competitiveness and load factors.
3. Collaboration and Communication
- Work with Revenue Management, IT, Commercial, and Distribution teams to align pricing strategies with system capabilities.
- Lead initiatives to enhance integration between Vayant and RTDP, ensuring continuous system improvements and scalability.
- Provide training, documentation, and insights on system usage, performance, and optimization.
4. Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct performance reviews of pricing and inventory systems, generating reports on fare competitiveness and inventory utilization.
- Provide data-driven insights to support pricing adjustments and inventory reallocation decisions.
- Present reports on pricing strategy effectiveness and integration performance, recommending improvements as needed.
