Join Energy Recovery and Help Build a Sustainable Future
At Energy Recovery, we build products that help limit global temperature rise, reduce carbon emissions, provide safe drinking water for millions of people, and bring efficiency and sustainability to a range of industries. Our products help customers avoid approximately 19.7 million metric tons of carbon emissions per year -- equivalent to removing over 4.7 million cars from the road!
In addition to innovating world-class products that help our customers and the environment, our employees enjoy a diverse, collaborative work culture, as well as extensive company benefits that support the overall wellbeing of our staff. This includes everything from generous health plans and time off, paid family leave, subsidized lunches and company events, and opportunities for charitable giving and volunteering in the community.
What You Can Look Forward To:
Energy Recovery is seeking a strategic and analytical HR professional to join our team in a hybrid role that blends the consultative and people-focused responsibilities of an HR Business Partner (HRBP) with the technical and data-driven expertise of a Compensation Center of Excellence (COE). This unique position offers the opportunity to influence both employee experience and organizational effectiveness through proactive business partnering and compensation strategy.
HR Business Partner (HRBP) Responsibilities – 50%
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing guidance on workforce planning, talent development, organizational design, and employee relations.

- Design, implement, and maintain competitive compensation programs aligned with business strategy and market benchmarks.
- Conduct job evaluations, market pricing, and internal equity analyses to support hiring, promotions, and retention.
- Lead annual compensation processes including merit planning, bonus administration, and salary structure reviews.
- Provide compensation consulting to HRBPs and business leaders, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Partner with Finance and HRIS teams to ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity.
Compensation COE Responsibilities – 50%
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., CCP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in compensation or total rewards.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems; experience with compensation modeling and benchmarking tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
