This role serves as a key day-to-day client partner across medical affairs and publication programs within a fast-paced healthcare communications environment.
You will manage client relationships, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.
The position combines account management, project leadership, strategic thinking, and client service, with growing responsibility for identifying opportunities and supporting business development.
You will work closely with account leads and internal specialists to translate client briefs into clear plans, priorities, and deliverables.
Success requires strong organization, proactive communication, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in an evolving environment.
You will also develop a strong understanding of clients’ business priorities, market dynamics, medical communications trends, and competitive activity.
This is an opportunity for an experienced medical affairs professional to take meaningful ownership of client accounts while continuing to develop their strategic and leadership capabilities.

  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact for medical affairs and publication workstreams, providing regular status updates, responding to client questions, sharing recommendations, and managing expectations around timelines and scope.
  • Receive and translate client briefs into clear internal direction, ensuring team members understand objectives, priorities, responsibilities, and realistic project plans.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned accounts, including internal team meetings, workflow, task delegation, status tracking, and overall visibility into account activity.
  • Take ownership and accountability for medium and large client projects, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards while remaining within agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with account leads regarding project progress, potential barriers, risks, and recommended solutions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client business priorities, program strategies, competitive activity, and relevant developments across the medical communications and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing programs or introduce additional tactics, proactively sharing ideas with internal teams and clients.
  • Stay informed about market changes and emerging trends that could influence client programs and account strategy.
  • Support new business opportunities by contributing relevant experience, ideas, credentials materials, and pitch presentations.
  • Maintain a working understanding of account finances and support account leads with financial management activities.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and collaborate with management to identify relevant training and growth opportunities.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain close attention to detail.
  • Independent thinker who can confidently take ownership of assets and material development while working collaboratively as part of a broader team.
  • Professional presence with a strong client-service orientation, sense of urgency, and commitment to high-quality deliverables.
  • Confidence communicating upward, including proactively informing managers when deadlines may be missed, risks emerge, or issues could affect delivery.
  • Adaptable, resilient, proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and a consistent record of following through on client requests while delivering work on schedule and within budget.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop practical solutions, and clearly communicate recommendations to both internal teams and clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when communicating project status, scope, timelines, and recommendations.
  • Experience with Speaker Bureau and speaker-program management.
  • Experience with Veeva and strong platform competency is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective collaboration across account, medical, creative, and other specialist teams.
