Technical Architect Senior

The Senior Technical Architect will lead the design and development of a comprehensive technology platform supporting fully automated transactional insurance solutions for single-risk business. This role combines enterprise architecture, software engineering leadership, and insurance technology expertise to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external clients, you will translate complex business needs into effective technical capabilities. You will oversee the platform's development, testing, and production operations while driving performance, automation, and continuous improvement. The position also involves shaping the technical roadmap, establishing service-level standards, and ensuring compliance with industry and organizational requirements. The ideal candidate combines advanced technical architecture expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and in-depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance technology. You should bring:

• A master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of professional experience as an Information Systems Architect, Technical Architect, Software Engineer, Enterprise Systems Architect, or in a closely related position.

• Proven experience managing internal staff and contracted engineering resources within Agile environments.

• Expertise in developing technical backlogs, assigning sprint-cycle work, and coordinating engineering delivery to meet business objectives and deadlines.

• Strong insurance domain knowledge, particularly in leading end-to-end automation for single-risk personal and commercial property and casualty insurance.

• Experience developing and implementing real-time insurance rating and pricing engines for property and casualty insurance.

• Expertise in designing and operating automated cloud infrastructure, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Experience architecting the orchestration of containerized workloads across distributed cloud systems supporting near-real-time applications.

• Proven ability to design data democratization platforms serving multiple internal and external stakeholders, including reporting capabilities, actuarial modeling environments, and end-to-end machine learning development and operations.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and operational concepts to non-technical audiences, including financial decision-makers.

• Excellent stakeholder management, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

• Ability to work from the New York, NY office twice per week, with telecommuting flexibility available for the remaining working days.
