Easy Tiger is an Austin beer garden and bakery known for freshly baked bread, craft beer, approachable food, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere. We’re looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team and help drive strong operations, memorable guest experiences, and a positive team culture.
The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager to lead day-to-day restaurant operations. This person should be a hands-on leader who enjoys being present on the floor, developing teams, solving problems in the moment, and creating an environment where both guests and employees want to return.
The ideal candidate has experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment, understands the operational and financial side of the business, and knows how to balance great hospitality with consistency and accountability.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Partner with the General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations and maintain a high standard of service and hospitality
- →Lead from the floor and provide visible, hands-on support during busy services
- →Coach, develop, and motivate FOH team members and managers
- →Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and ongoing employee development
- →Help create schedules and manage staffing levels based on business needs
- →Monitor labor, sales, costs, and other key operating metrics
- →Support inventory management, ordering, receiving, and cost-control initiatives
- →Ensure opening, closing, cash-handling, and daily operating procedures are completed accurately
- →Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, safety, and health standards
- →Address guest concerns thoughtfully and quickly while empowering the team to deliver excellent hospitality
- →Partner with culinary and bakery leadership to ensure strong communication and smooth operations across departments
- →Help execute events, promotions, and high-volume services
- →Maintain knowledge of company policies and ensure they are consistently followed
- →Step into the General Manager's responsibilities when needed
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience; AGM or comparable leadership experience preferred
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including labor, scheduling, inventory, and cost controls
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop hourly employees
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- A collaborative leadership style and willingness to jump in wherever needed
- Comfort using restaurant technology and operational systems
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- TABC and Food Manager certifications, or ability to obtain required certifications
