This role ensures optimal use of resources, adherence to company policies, and the highest standards of operational efficiency. The Warehouse Manager plays a critical role in inventory management, vendor relations, and the effective use of MarketMan to maximise purchasing efficiency, control budgets, and maintain accurate stock records.
Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
• Strategically manage warehouse activities in compliance with company policies and vision.
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
• Set up warehouse layouts to ensure efficient space utilisation.
• Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by implementing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by inspecting equipment, issuing repair orders, and arranging replacements when necessary.
Inventory & Procurement
• Act as the “MarketMan Guru,” ensuring the system is used to its maximum potential and kept fully updated.
• Review supply levels and monitor aging inventory to forecast purchasing needs.
• Maintain accurate stock control and reconcile with data storage systems.
• Source and obtain quotes from multiple suppliers to secure the most cost-effective purchasing options.
Vendor & Supplier Management
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors through effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Introduce supplier incentive and recognition programs to strengthen partnerships.
Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance
• Take responsibility for the repair and maintenance of all company equipment, working closely with PMSG, Andro, and Island Supplies to ensure timely service and minimal downtime.
• Maintain all company vehicles, ensuring they are serviced regularly, kept in good condition, and met all safety standards.
• Stay on top of all vehicle and equipment insurance policies, inspections, checks, and diagnostics.
Team Leadership & Development
• Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff to meet operational needs.
• Coach, counsel, and evaluate team members to ensure performance targets are met.
• Enforce operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth workflows.
Financial Management & Reporting
• Achieve financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances, and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate reporting on warehouse operations, inventory, and KPI’s.
Compliance & Safety
• Implement and enforce health and safety procedures in line with company policies and legal requirements.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and maintenance of products to meet quality standards.
Key Qualifications and Skills
• Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager.
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and develop a team.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in budgeting, safety management, inventory control, and reporting.
• Minimum 5–6 years’ experience in a warehouse management role.
Other Requirements
• Applicants must have a no-convictions police record.
• Valid Cayman Driver’s License is preferred.
• Qualified Caymanians and PR Holders are strongly encouraged to apply and will receive priority consideration.
