This position is responsible for executing the culinary portion of catering events and working a variable schedule. Here are some of the job duties:
- Thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven catering environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional food quality and service.
- Prepare a diverse range of menu offerings, from elegant, upscale cuisine for formal events to high-quality comfort foods for casual gatherings.
- Demonstrate strong culinary creativity and the ability to accurately interpret, execute, and adapt recipes as needed.
- Maintain high standards for food presentation, ensuring dishes are visually appealing, professional, and event-appropriate.
- Apply knowledge of a wide variety of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, sanitation standards, and kitchen best practices.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills, including production planning, event preparation, and meeting ordering deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with culinary, service, and purchasing teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Develop accurate ingredient and product lists while coordinating closely with purchasing to support catering operations.
- Adapt menus, recipes, and production plans based on product availability, inventory levels, and operational needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on event schedules and client needs.
- Approach challenges with a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a focus on delivering excellent guest experiences.
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house and back-of-house teams to create memorable catering events that exceed client expectations.
