Located opposite Wellington Railway Station, The Duke Hotel is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Food & Beverage Attendant to join our hospitality team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will play an important part in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for our guests while maintaining high standards of service, presentation, and professionalism.

About the Role

As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service across our restaurant, bar, and function areas. Working closely with the wider team, you will help ensure smooth daily operations and deliver a consistently high standard of guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and serve guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and set up dining and service areas.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly while maintaining service standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all front-of-house areas.
• Handle guest enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
• Promote menu items, beverages, and special offers.
• Support conferences, events, and group bookings as required.
• Follow all food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and hotel teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage service, or customer-facing roles.
• A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• The ability to remain calm and organised during busy periods.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
• A reliable and professional approach to work.

Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service would be an advantage but is not essential.
