A prominent player in the F&B sector is seeking a driven and proactive Internal Sales Representative to join their team. This role is designed for a high-energy sales professional with a background in the food industry who excels at building client relationships and driving revenue growth. The successful candidate will work full-time in-office with specific office hours, however there is flexibility in terms of your start time. The role focuses on expanding the regional footprint by converting new business leads and managing an existing portfolio. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the position involves high-volume telephonic engagement, strategic upselling, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) to maximise gross profit and turnover. Key Responsibilities New Business Development: Identify and contact potential leads to convert them through the full sales cycle and acquire new accounts. Account Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for existing clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring high service levels. Sales Execution: Handle both inbound and outbound sales calls to meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. Revenue Optimisation: Actively upsell and communicate current promotions to increase turnover and gross profit margins. Order Coordination: Manage client orders and liaise with the support team to ensure seamless invoicing and pricing processes. Performance Tracking: Monitor and exceed KPIs while ensuring all sales administration is accurate and up to date. Market Growth: Take ownership of a designated area to grow market share and identify new commercial opportunities. Requirements Education: Senior Certificate (Grade 12). Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience within the Food and Beverage sector (essential) or FMCG. Sales Track Record: Proven experience in a sales-driven environment with a focus on hitting targets. Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, particularly for telephonic sales. Attributes: Strong initiative, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative team-player mindset. Work Ethic: Highly organised, punctual, and able to perform effectively under high-pressure conditions. Previous experience using CRM systems. Familiarity with sales processes specifically within the South African food distribution landscape. Required Software Skills Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Pastel Accounting (highly advantageous). CRM software proficiency. Benefits Competitive basic salary. Guaranteed commission for the first 6 months to support the transition. Note: No remote work. Employment Type Permanent, Full-time offering flexible working hours. Winter Hours: 07:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday. Summer Hours: 07:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday.
