Position : Finance & Operations Specialist

Work Hours (Client) : Mountain Standard Timezone (40 hours/week)      

Pay Range : $2,000–$3,000 USD/month (varies based on skill set and experience level)

Location of Search : South Africa

Work Location : REMOTE

Company/Client Overview:

The Company is a bootstrapped apparel brand that has grown from $20k in annual sales in 2019 to $400k in 2023. The business is at a stage where operational complexity (finance, inventory, marketing execution) is limiting strategic growth. The goal is to build a small, experienced offshore team to support continued scale.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This role focuses on financial ownership, operational analysis, and inventory planning.

Finance

• Calculate complex Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) from raw materials (fabric, buttons, labels).
• Build and maintain a 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Improve bookkeeping speed and accuracy (current local bookkeeper is 2–3 weeks behind).

Operations

• Inventory management and demand planning.
• Analyze performance data from:
  • Shopify
  • Klaviyo
  • Google Analytics
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram ads)
• Support operational decision-making with accurate, timely reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

Language requirement: Excellent English Communication Skills

Education: Bachelor's Degree (ideally)

Experience: 4+ years of related experience 

• Accounting and costing experience
• Inventory management experience
• Performance data analysis skill

• Proactive, solution-focused, and comfortable working independently.
• Experience scaling small to mid-sized e-commerce brands.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong execution mindset with attention to detail.
