The Director of Sales, Germany will lead StackAdapt's commercial strategy and revenue growth across the DACH market.

Reporting to the VP of Sales, EMEA, you will be accountable for building and developing a high-performing sales team, accelerating revenue growth, expanding strategic customer relationships, and delivering sustainable commercial success across the DACH region.

This is a senior market leadership role for an experienced sales leader who can combine strategic direction with hands-on execution. You will establish clear market priorities, create a disciplined and scalable sales organisation, and support the team in originating, developing, and closing complex commercial opportunities.

As a player-coach, you will remain closely involved in the market, building relationships with senior decision-makers, supporting strategic opportunities, and positioning StackAdapt as a trusted partner within Germany's digital advertising ecosystem.

StackAdapt is a remote-first company. For this role, we are prioritising candidates based in Germany who are professionally fluent in both German and English.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute StackAdapt's sales strategy for Germany, with accountability for revenue growth, customer acquisition, pipeline development, and overall commercial performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team responsible for driving customer growth and expanding StackAdapt's presence across the German market.
  • Establish clear market priorities, territory plans, and account strategies that support sustainable, scalable growth.
  • Create a consistent operating cadence across pipeline reviews, forecasting, performance management, and deal inspection.
  • Ensure the team maintains a healthy pipeline and consistently delivers against quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop exceptional sales talent as the German business continues to grow.
  • Operate as a player-coach by participating in strategic customer meetings, supporting complex commercial opportunities, and helping the team progress and close high-value deals.
  • Build executive-level relationships with agencies, advertisers, brands, and strategic partners across the German market.
  • Position StackAdapt as a trusted strategic partner by articulating our differentiated value proposition and delivering customer-focused solutions.
  • Support the team throughout the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, solution development, product demonstrations, commercial negotiations, and closing.
  • Lead qualification and win strategies for major commercial opportunities, pitches, and RFPs.
  • Partner closely with Client Services to ensure a seamless transition from sale through onboarding, activation, adoption, and long-term customer success.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Sales Enablement, Solutions, and regional leadership to develop market-specific initiatives that accelerate growth.
  • Represent the voice of the German market internally, using customer feedback and commercial insight to influence product development, positioning, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitor activity, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
  • Represent StackAdapt at industry events, customer meetings, and executive forums across Germany.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance while communicating a clear commercial vision aligned with regional and global business objectives.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital advertising, programmatic advertising, advertising technology, media sales, or a related industry.
  • Significant experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing enterprise sales teams.
  • A proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and delivering sustained commercial growth within the German market.
  • Deep knowledge of the German digital advertising, agency, advertiser, and programmatic ecosystem.
  • Established relationships with senior decision-makers across agencies, advertisers, enterprise brands, and key industry stakeholders in Germany.
  • Strong expertise in programmatic advertising, demand-side platforms (DSPs), and the wider advertising technology landscape.
  • Experience developing and executing market-level sales strategies and go-to-market plans.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex enterprise sales cycles and closing high-value commercial partnerships.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to identify, prioritise, and execute against the opportunities that will deliver the greatest business impact.
  • A disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting, performance management, and sales execution.
  • The ability to coach and develop teams through discovery, solution selling, negotiation, competitive positioning, and closing.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to influence Product, Marketing, Client Services, Sales Enablement, and executive leadership teams.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in customer engagements and critical commercial opportunities.
  • A collaborative, growth-oriented leadership style with a passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
  • Professional fluency in German and English.
