Your Role with Us

As a Business Development Manager in our Aligned Advice team, you will play a key role in growing AIA’s presence and creating value for financial advisers and their customers. Working closely with advisers, you will build trusted relationships, understand their business goals, and help identify opportunities for sustainable growth. This is a highly collaborative role where you partner with internal teams to deliver exceptional service, share market insights, and support strong compliance outcomes. With a mix of strategic planning, business development, and relationship management, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while continuing to grow your commercial and leadership capabilities.

  • Drive profitable sales growth by developing and executing business plans that strengthen adviser engagement and expand market opportunities

  • Build trusted adviser relationships that support long-term partnerships, improve service experiences, and deliver mutual success

  • Identify new business, cross-sell opportunities, and growth areas that increase market share and contribute to commercial results

  • Represent AIA in the market, sharing insights and positioning solutions effectively to enhance brand presence and adviser confidence

  • Collaborate across teams to resolve adviser needs, improve processes, and deliver seamless, high-quality support

  • Promote strong risk and compliance outcomes by supporting adviser training, managing issues proactively, and escalating concerns where needed

  • You bring proven success in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within insurance, financial services, or a related industry

  • You have strong relationship-building skills and create credibility with advisers, stakeholders, and colleagues through a collaborative approach

  • You have the ability to identify growth opportunities, translate insights into action, and achieve commercial outcomes

  • You bring strong communication and emotional intelligence, adapting your approach to different audiences and situations

  • You have experience using data, performance measures, and market insights to inform decisions and prioritise opportunities

  • It is great if you have industry qualifications, tertiary study, or knowledge of financial advice and insurance products in New Zealand's market environment

At AIA, your experience matters, and so does your impact. In return for your expertise, we offer a career where you can apply your skills to meaningful work that improves lives across Asia-Pacific.
