Responsibilities
~1 min readThe Business Development VP is an executive‑level sales and growth role accountable for expanding and growing revenue through existing carrier integration and channel partners. This role owns partner strategy, revenue performance, and relationship health across the partner ecosystem.
This position works closely with Sales, Product, Finance, EDI, Operations, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment between partner strategies, product capabilities, and bswift’s overall business objectives. The primary goal of this role is to help partners grow their core businesses while increasing adoption and revenue of bswift’s products and services in a profitable and scalable manner.

- Own overall business development strategy and revenue outcomes for carrier integration partners and channel partners.
- Drive new revenue, expansion, cross‑sell, and retention of bswift products and services in support of profitable growth objectives.
- Develop and execute multi‑year partner growth strategies aligned with company revenue, margin, and market expansion goals.
- Evaluate partner performance and investment decisions to ensure strong return and strategic alignment.
- Serve as a senior strategic business partner and executive sponsor to key partners, including insurers, producers, payroll firms, and technology partners.
- Optimize the positioning of bswift’s products and services within partner portfolios to maximize profitability, market penetration, and business volume.
- Lead executive‑level partner stewardship meetings, QBRs, and long‑term strategic planning discussions.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex partner issues and as a leadership liaison between partners and bswift executives.
- Oversee renewal strategy across assigned partner portfolios, ensuring appropriate margins and customer or membership retention targets are achieved.
- Prepare partners for renewal discussions by clearly articulating pricing, value, and cost drivers of bswift products and services.
- Develop complex financial analyses, business cases, and strategic recommendations, and present them to executive leadership and partners.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics impacting partners and the broader benefits ecosystem.
- Translate market insights into actionable sales and business development strategies that strengthen bswift’s competitive advantage.
- Partner with Product and Strategy teams to influence roadmap priorities based on partner needs and market opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong executive‑level relationships across internal teams including Sales, Product Management, Finance, EDI, Operations, and Legal.
- Ensure partner strategies are aligned with internal capabilities, regulatory requirements, and long‑term business objectives.
- Support partner‑driven sales opportunities related to new business, growth, and cross‑sell initiatives, including executive‑level involvement in sales pursuits and system demonstrations when appropriate.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Extensive experience in business development, partner sales, or strategic alliances in a B2B environment.
- Proven track record of driving partner‑led revenue growth and managing executive‑level relationships.
- Executive‑level sales, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with pricing, margins, and revenue models.
- Ability to define and execute long‑term growth strategies.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive presence.
- Strong cross‑functional leadership and influence capabilities.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience in benefits administration, HR technology, insurance, or payroll ecosystems.
- Background working with carrier integrations, indirect sales models, or channel‑driven growth strategies.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Technology teams to scale platform‑based offerings.
