The Account Executive will be responsible for maintaining excellent customer relations and ensuring the highest possible level of monthly sales by way of regular weekly customer visits, pro-active order solicitation and ensuring a dependable supply of products is available at competitive prices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will encompass a broad range of activities associated with selling, including but not limited to:

  • Regularly monitoring sales data, targets and performance regularly with a review towards increasing sales and retaining customers.
  • Creating monthly sales and gross margin targets and achieving them.
  • Ensuring reasonable requirements for principals are fulfilled (i.e. establishing sales objectives and strategies, advising on competitive situations, market trends, potential for growth, pricing situations, and providing reports on sales and other market info.).
  • Ensuring company policies and divisional strategies & objectives are adhered to.
  • When required or in emergencies, making deliveries and picking up merchandise, ensuring all paperwork is in order and properly executed.
  • Ensuring no product leaves the warehouse without an accompanying invoice/delivery slip.
  • Keeping the customers informed about new developments (i.e. vacations, staff changes, etc.).
  • Monitoring and reporting any irregularities discovered.
  • Positive co-operative engagement in departmental/team initiatives/activities and support needs. Providing support to work colleagues when needed (i.e. cover telephones, cover vacations, etc.).
  • Participating in team meetings and assigned committees.
  • Posting the agreed customer visit schedule on the shared network.
  • Competently performing all tasks associated with sales and customer visits. Making effective customer visits to include detailed preparation and use of laptop, and resolving customer issues in a positive manner.
  • Soliciting orders pro-actively. Maintaining and adhering to the posted customer visits as appropriate.
  • Entering orders into the system in a timely manner in order to meet delivery schedules.
  • Ensuring market visits by supplier representatives are mutually beneficial to all parties. Participating in supplier visits as directed.
  • Promptly handling requests for credits/returns (working with Customer Service Associates).

 

Requirements:

  • At least (3) three years' experience working in a similar customer service or support role.
  • Good professional deportment and telephone etiquette are required.
  • Must have own transportation and a valid Bermuda license.
  • Excellent internal/external customer service skills inclusive of good customer conflict resolution skills. Must possess the ability to remain calm and polite when dealing with complaints.
  • A team player with a positive attitude.
  • Should be a self-starter with the ability to work fast and be accurate.
  • Must be deadline driven and detail oriented.
  • Should possess the ability to multi-task with superior time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Receptive to taking direction and performance feedback.
  • Must possess strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of Cognos, GP, Targit would be advantageous.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and possess high work standards.
  • Strong product knowledge is advantageous.
