The company is seeking a sales professional who can combine field prospecting, showroom sales, relationship development, construction knowledge, estimating, and account management to support continued growth.
Position Summary Superb Flooring & Design is seeking a driven, resourceful, and relationship-focused Outside Sales Representative to generate new business and develop a profitable portfolio of flooring customers throughout Southeast Michigan. This is a hunter-oriented sales position for someone who is comfortable prospecting, making outbound calls, visiting construction sites, meeting builders and contractors, networking in the community, following up consistently, and closing their own business. The representative will receive access to company resources, referral opportunities, an established showroom, and a small portfolio of existing or assigned accounts. However, the primary expectation is that the new hire will independently build a pipeline and acquire additional customers. The successful candidate will manage most opportunities through the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, product consultation, estimating, proposal preparation, closing, backlog monitoring, and customer relationship management. Leadership will provide additional support for major commercial negotiations and complex contracts. Flooring experience is helpful, but broader construction, building materials, home improvement, estimating, or field-sales experience may also translate well into the position.
Compensation and Benefits Compensation · $50,000 annual base salary. · Uncapped, performance-based commission. · Total earning potential of approximately $50,000 to $150,000+ annually. · Earnings increase based on the volume, profitability, and value of business generated. · Sales representatives receive credit for qualifying repeat business from accounts they develop. · An auto allowance is provided for approved business-related travel. Important Commission Timing Candidates should understand that flooring and construction sales can involve longer project cycles. · Residential and retail opportunities may close and install relatively quickly. · Builder and commercial opportunities may take several months from initial prospecting to installation and payment. · The typical ramp-up period is approximately 60 to 90 days. · Some new-construction accounts may require four to six months before projects are completed and commission is realized. · Shorter-cycle residential and referral opportunities may help generate business while larger commercial and builder accounts develop.
Benefits · Health insurance. · Dental insurance. · Vision insurance. · 401(k) plan with company match. · Paid time off. · Training and professional development. · Free food and snacks. · Auto allowance.
Work Arrangement and Territory Primary Office This position is based at the company’s Troy, Michigan location. The representative is expected to: · Begin most workdays at the Troy office. · Spend time in the showroom, completing estimates, preparing proposals, following up with customers, and managing the pipeline. · Leave the office as needed for prospecting, customer appointments, job-site visits, networking events, and account-development activities. · Maintain a consistent physical presence at the office during the initial onboarding and ramp-up period. Limited work-from-home flexibility may become available in the future, but candidates should apply with the understanding that this is primarily an on-site and field-based position. Territory The representative will develop business throughout Southeast Michigan. Potential coverage may extend: · North toward Flint. · West toward Lansing. · South toward the Ohio border. · Throughout Metro Detroit and surrounding communities. Accounts are assigned by customer relationship rather than through completely exclusive geographic territories.
