  • Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, and closing skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from prospecting through close.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with three days per week in the New York City office from day one.
  • Life and Health Insurance License.

Recruiters must provide a detailed candidate summary addressing the following:

  • Confirmation that the candidate holds a BA/BS degree.
  • Total years of relevant experience.
  • Annual sales numbers and sales performance.
  • Production numbers, including new business/revenue generated where available.
  • Size of current and/or previous book of business.

  • MetLife
  • Unum
  • Guardian
  • Lincoln Financial

  • Reliance Standard
  • Principal
  • ADP

Candidates from these organizations should only be considered when they demonstrate the required mid-market, broker-style consultative sales experience and true new-business hunting ability.

This opportunity is best suited for candidates with a demonstrated history of generating new business and managing the full consultative sales cycle.

Candidates may not be the right fit if their experience consists primarily of:

  • Carrier-based sales without meaningful broker-style consulting experience.
  • Point-solution sales without full brokerage-cycle experience.
  • Maintaining existing accounts without demonstrated new-business development.
  • Relying primarily on broker relationships or referral channels for business generation.
  • Limited experience selling to the 1,000–5,000 employee lives market.
  • Inability to clearly quantify sales, production, book of business, or market size.
  • Frequent job changes without a compelling explanation or significant long-term tenure within the industry.

Recruiters should drill deeper into true hunting ability during the screening process. Candidates should be able to clearly explain how they personally generated opportunities, opened new accounts, gained access to decision-makers, and converted prospects into revenue.

This is a hybrid New York City opportunity requiring employees to work three days per week in the office and two days remotely.

Candidates must be able to meet the in-office requirement from day one.

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, high-performance environment focused on developing innovative employee benefits solutions and delivering measurable value to employers and their employees.
