About the Role

KHAITE is seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales Director, APAC to lead and grow the brand's wholesale business across China and Korea. Based in Shanghai, this role will be responsible for developing regional sales strategies, managing key wholesale partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring exceptional execution across the region.

The ideal candidate is a proven luxury wholesale sales leader with 10–15 years of experience, deep relationships within the APAC luxury retail landscape, and a strong understanding of the Chinese and Korean markets. This individual will serve as KHAITE's primary commercial representative in the region while partnering closely with the New York headquarters to drive long-term, profitable growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the wholesale strategy for the APAC region, with primary responsibility for China and South Korea.
  • Own and achieve seasonal and annual regional sales targets while driving profitable growth across existing and new wholesale accounts.
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong executive-level relationships with key department stores, luxury retailers, specialty boutiques, and strategic partners throughout the region.
  • Identify new market opportunities and expand KHAITE's wholesale footprint while ensuring alignment with the brand's long-term distribution strategy.
  • Lead all seasonal market appointments, product presentations, assortment planning, and order negotiations with regional partners.
  • Analyze sales performance, sell-through, inventory levels, and market trends to develop actionable business strategies and recommendations.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising, Planning, Production, Operations, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless execution from order placement through delivery.
  • Provide regular business updates, sales forecasts, competitive insights, and market intelligence to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Retail teams to support brand activations, wholesale events, and strategic client initiatives throughout the region.
  • Ensure brand consistency and elevate the customer experience across all wholesale distribution channels.
  • Represent KHAITE at industry events, market appointments, and client meetings throughout the region.

 

Requirements

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-first mindset.
  • Collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • 10–15 years of wholesale sales experience within the luxury fashion industry, with a demonstrated track record of driving business growth across APAC.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Deep understanding of the luxury retail landscape in China and South Korea.
  • Established network of relationships with luxury department stores, specialty retailers, and key wholesale partners throughout the region.
  • Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing high-value wholesale accounts.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze sales performance, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems, CRM platforms, and wholesale management tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout APAC and periodically to KHAITE's New York headquarters.
