NextGen Hospitality Solutions is looking for a passionate Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef to join our vibrant team in Long Beach. This full-time, on-site position is an exciting opportunity to lead our kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and service, while also contributing to menu development and team training.

In this role, you will oversee kitchen staff, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Your expertise will help create memorable dining experiences for our guests, while fostering a collaborative and positive workplace culture. We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 annually, alongside opportunities for career advancement in the thriving restaurant industry.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring a cohesive team environment
  • Assist in menu planning and recipe development, focusing on quality and creativity
  • Manage food inventory and ordering, maintaining cost efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Monitor food preparation and presentation to maintain high standards
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service
  • Address any kitchen issues or staff conflicts promptly and professionally
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure proper maintenance

Requirements

  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining quality

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
