Senior Systems Engineer & IT Solutions Architect (Remote) - 67325762975
Quick Summary
Translate varied client business challenges into reliable technical architectures—spanning server migrations, cloud transitions, hybrid network builds, and cybersecurity enhancements.
Employment Type: Full-Time Remote Contractor (40 hours/week + flexible on-call/overtime rotation)
Schedule: US Pacific Standard Time (PST) core business hours

We are seeking an autonomous, client-facing Senior Systems Engineer & IT Solutions Architect with extensive Managed Services Provider (MSP) experience to lead advanced systems administration, complex project delivery, and Tier-3 escalations.
In this role, you will do much more than follow routine runbooks. Our client environments are diverse, unique, and dynamic. When a client presents an unmapped technical hurdle or architecture request, you will step into the unknown, diagnose the root requirement, architect a viable solution, collaborate with our commercial/sales leads to define the scope, and execute the rollout from design to production.
The ideal candidate has hands-on depth across Windows Server ecosystems, Azure cloud infrastructure, network topology builds, and enterprise cybersecurity hygiene, paired with C1-level English communication and the composure required for direct corporate stakeholder interaction.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Technical Solution Design: Translate varied client business challenges into reliable technical architectures—spanning server migrations, cloud transitions, hybrid network builds, and cybersecurity enhancements.
- Pre-Sales Collaboration: Partner with our account and sales team to outline technical scopes of work (SOWs), equipment specifications, and project milestones prior to client presentation.
- Hands-On Implementation: Own the execution phase for approved engineering projects, including tenant migrations, Azure VM provisioning, firewall cutovers, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Advanced Server & Infrastructure Management: Serve as the senior escalation authority for Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, Hyper-V, and clustering).
- Azure Cloud Operations: Provision, manage, and optimize Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune MDM, and hybrid cloud synchronization.
- Network Architecture: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise networking equipment (VLANs, VPNs, routing, managed switches, and next-gen firewalls).
- Workstation & Fleet Deployment: Oversee automated device provisioning, baseline image standards, and remote monitoring/management (RMM) policies.
- Security Audits & Recommendations: Evaluate client security postures, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend actionable hardening measures (EDR/MDR deployment, zero-trust policies, MFA, patch compliance).
- Co-Managed Partner Collaboration: Interface directly with client internal IT directors and sysadmins, acting as their trusted high-tier escalation and architecture partner.
- Rotational Escalations: Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation and planned maintenance windows (after-hours/weekends as needed) to resolve critical priority incidents.
