At Macmillan Learning, we're committed to driving innovation that transforms education. We seek team members who thrive on pushing boundaries, envisioning future possibilities, and building solutions that make a lasting impact . Whether you're a Pioneer shaping bold new ideas, a Builder turning possibilities into reality, or a Stabilizer optimizing for success, you'll play a vital role in advancing our mission . If you’re interested in helping shape what’s next in education, we’d love to hear what you could bring to Macmillan Learning.

As a Field Sales Representative, you will promote and sell Macmillan Learning's full suite of educational solutions to higher education institutions throughout your assigned territory . What You'll Do

  • You'll conduct daily sales calls and on-campus visits, meeting with 12 to 15 decision-makers per campus to promote Macmillan Learning products .

  • You'll deliver tailored sales presentations, virtual demonstrations, and complimentary course materials to faculty members and committees .

  • You'll actively manage and update customer profiles, contacts, sales opportunities, and pipelines within the company CRM platform .

  • You'll service customer accounts and build long-term relationships with college professors, faculty, and campus bookstore personnel .

  • You'll develop quarterly and semester travel itineraries and preplan daily call schedules to maximize territory efficiency and sales coverage .

  • You'll allocate sampling and travel/entertainment budgets effectively to optimize territory productivity .

  • You'll communicate regularly with your sales manager through weekly updates, submitting sales tracking data, sampling records, and expense reports on a timely basis .

  • You'll actively participate in professional conferences as well as regional and national sales meetings .

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience .

  • Direct sales experience with a track record of driving outcomes, building customer relationships, and closing opportunities .

  • Self-starter initiative with the ability to manage a territory independently while collaborating effectively with the wider sales team .

  • Digital literacy and proficiency with computers, basic software applications, CRM platforms, and virtual presentation tools .

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to drive for business travel within the territory .

  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week during peak fall and spring selling seasons, including evening administrative work .

  • Ability to meet role-specific physical demands, including lifting up to 35 lbs. of books, walking up to 2 miles a day on campus, sitting/standing for extended periods, and driving 2 to 5 hours daily .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior publishing or educational sales experience .

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated interest in working within an academic environment .

  • Experience leveraging digital learning resources, CRM tools, and data analysis to enhance client interactions .
