As a Sales Development Representative, you will be the first conversation many East African businesses have with Ebury. Your job is to find the right companies, start the conversation and book high-quality meetings for our Key Account Directors, who then take each opportunity forward. You will be based in our Nairobi office and cover the East African market remotely, working mainly by phone, email and LinkedIn. This is a focused prospecting and appointment-setting role. Success is measured by the quality and volume of meetings you create, not by deals you close. It is an ideal first step into a sales career, with a clear path to becoming a Business Developer.

  • →Research and target East African businesses that trade internationally, such as importers, exporters, distributors and manufacturers, and build well-researched prospect lists
  • →Run outbound outreach by phone, email, LinkedIn and approved channels to open conversations with finance directors, CFOs, business owners and treasury contacts.
  • →Qualify interest using an agreed framework covering company profile, international payment activity and decision-makers, so every meeting is worth a Key Account Director's time.
  • →Book and hand over meetings with clear notes so the Key Account Director walks in fully briefed.
  • →Keep the CRM accurate by logging all activity, contacts and outcomes promptly.
  • →Feed back market insight on sectors, objections and competitor activity to help shape our Tanzania go-to-market approach.
  • →Follow scripts, approved materials and compliance guidance in all outreach.

  • Fluent English and Swahili, written and spoken
  • Knowledge of FX, payments and cross border payments
  • Confident on the phone and comfortable approaching senior people you don't know
  • Resilient, self-motivated and comfortable working to weekly targets
  • Organised, with strong attention to detail and good written communication
  • An interest in sales, business and international trade
  • Right to work in Kenya
  • Willingness to travel to across East Africa region occasionally
  • Up to two years' experience in outbound sales, telesales, business development or a customer-facing role
  • Knowledge of the East Africa business landscape and its landscape and its key trading sectors
  • Experience with a CRM such as Salesforce or HubSpot
  • Competitive base salary plus a performance bonus linked to qualified meetings [confirm structure]
  • Structured onboarding and training in FX, international payments and sales skills
  • Close mentoring from experienced Key Account Directors
  • A clear, merit-based route into a Business Developer role

Ebury is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and assess every candidate on merit.
