SalesSales Engineer

The Vice President, Product and Solutions Engineering will lead the strategy, design, and commercial positioning of integrated banking technology solutions for banks, sponsor banks, and fintechs. This is a hands-on, 0-to-1 leadership role combining product ownership with enterprise solutions engineering, from customer discovery and architecture through technical evaluation and launch. You will shape a portfolio of repeatable solutions across card issuing, payments, lending, core banking, and digital platforms, while influencing the broader product roadmap. Working directly with institutional buyers and technical decision-makers, you will design solutions that address complex business, operational, and regulatory requirements. You will also build the technical and commercial evidence needed to differentiate the platform in a competitive market. Initially operating without a dedicated team, you will work across engineering and product groups while mentoring teams and establishing scalable solution practices.

  • Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for a portfolio of banking and fintech solutions, identifying target customer segments, recurring market needs, and opportunities for differentiation.

  • Determine which solutions to develop, package, evolve, or retire based on customer demand, market evidence, commercial potential, and platform capabilities.

  • Design complete financial product propositions for individual institutions, including customer value proposition, program structure, commercial economics, compliance responsibilities, and operating model.

  • Establish clear allocation of responsibilities across banks, fintechs, and program partners for onboarding, underwriting, monitoring, disputes, and reporting, documenting arrangements in a form suitable for formal compliance approval.

  • Develop business cases alongside technical designs, covering unit economics, fees, reserves, and other financial considerations.

  • Turn repeated customer engagements into standardized, reusable solutions with defined scope, pricing logic, positioning, launch requirements, roadmaps, and adoption measures.

  • Use customer discovery, product usage, and win/loss analysis to translate market feedback into product requirements and recommendations for platform roadmap owners.

  • Develop hands-on expertise across the full banking technology stack, including credit, debit, and prepaid issuing; core banking; lending; payments; fraud; and agentic AI.

  • Build a detailed understanding of platform modules, APIs, low-code extension capabilities, events, data models, and deployment approaches.

  • Lead technical discovery within complex institutional technology environments to identify business problems and define the most effective solution.

  • Design target architectures and integration approaches that work with existing core banking, ledger, data, and channel systems.

  • Define clear implementation scope, sequencing, and coexistence strategies, including what should migrate first, what should operate in parallel, and what can be decommissioned.

  • Develop product-by-product conversion paths for institutions and programs with existing customer portfolios, working closely with delivery teams to establish feasible migration plans.

  • Build and maintain demonstration environments across credit, prepaid, and debit solutions, covering both new programs and existing-book conversions.

  • Demonstrate realistic customer workflows and lead proofs of concept and competitive evaluations against criteria developed with prospective customers.

  • Own technical responses to RFPs and RFIs, security questionnaires, and vendor due diligence requests.

  • Defend proposed architectures and solutions throughout institutional architecture reviews, security assessments, and procurement processes.

  • Address sponsor bank oversight requirements through transparent program monitoring, on-demand ledger-level access, event-based auditability, and timely delivery of complete program files.

  • Serve as a senior technical and product counterpart to institutional buyers throughout evaluation, integration design, and launch.

  • Develop sponsor banks and fintech platforms into repeatable distribution and partnership channels.

  • Maintain a structured view of the competitive landscape, assessing legacy full-stack providers, modern platforms built on older cores, newer providers with limited revolving credit experience, and program managers with capital.

  • Partner with Marketing on market positioning, customer case studies, and solution messaging.

  • Represent the organization at relevant industry events and forums, strengthening market credibility and visibility.

  • Work closely with engineering and product management teams to translate customer needs into actionable requirements and influence platform priorities.

  • Mentor engineers and product managers, providing direction and technical-commercial guidance despite starting without a dedicated team.

  • Build reusable solution assets, including reference architectures, demonstration environments, objection-handling materials, and sales enablement resources.

  • Establish measurable outcomes for solution adoption, technical evaluation success, commercial performance, and product delivery.

  • Establish an agreed strategy and roadmap for the solutions portfolio, supported by customer evidence and win/loss analysis.

  • Deliver at least three packaged solutions for recurring institutional needs, each with documented scope, compliance model, economics, pricing, and launch path.

  • Build a library of demos, reference architectures, and objection-handling resources that sales teams can use independently across credit, prepaid, and debit solutions.

  • Ensure product requirements are linked to specific customer opportunities, translated into actionable platform plans, and advanced through delivery.

  • Develop at least one banking service provider or sponsor bank partner capable of positioning and demonstrating the solutions independently.

  • Contribute to qualified institutional technical evaluations, successful proofs of concept, RFP opportunities, and shortlist inclusion.

  • Support the achievement of at least one seven-figure annual recurring revenue contract, backed by a technically qualified pipeline.

  • Bring at least one program live using a solution designed by the role.

  • Complete at least one existing-book conversion from initial technical engagement through a signed decision.

  • Secure at least one institutional customer reference willing to engage with other banks' technical teams.
