As Rowan’s Business Development (BD) organization grows to handle significantly higher deal volume, this role will help build the infrastructure needed to execute at scale. Business Development Operations & Support (BD-OS) is a BD pillar alongside Customer Development, Commercial Strategy & Negotiation, and Market & Products. Its focus spans program and process management, CRM and customer planning systems, market and customer insights, and cross-functional coordination for live deals and broader BD initiatives.

The Director role will help grow and develop the BD-OS group by improving Rowan’s existing tools and processes and creating new systems, reporting, and operating routines where needed to give BD and its stakeholders clear visibility into deal and customer status. The role holds primary responsibility for customer-facing planning and reporting, including tracking account status, progress, next steps, and strategic plans across key relationships, as well as communicating BD’s progress to senior leadership, capital partners, and the board.

Responsibilities

Working closely with peers across BD's other pillars and the team within BD-OS, you will support:

  • →

This role owns Rowan's ongoing customer and market intelligence effort gathering the insight that informs site selection, pricing (including market comps), and competitive analysis, so that Rowan's solutions and positioning are grounded in a clear view of the market rather than internal assumption alone

  • →

The accuracy and timeliness of this group's projections carry real financial weight: BD's forecasts and deal-status reporting directly inform Rowan's decisions on at-risk project investment and long lead equipment (LLE) commitments. Getting this visibility right and getting it early is central to how Rowan manages capital exposure ahead of signed leases

  • →

Rowan is scaling faster than its systems, and this role exists to close that gap. The Director builds new ways to give everyone, from individual deal teams up through the board, a clear and current view of deal and customer status, rather than applying existing methods as they are. The role suits someone who sets priorities without waiting for direction, builds the process when none exists, and manages several live deals and senior-leader requests at once. Expect ambiguity, a changing operating model, and a team that is still being built

  • →

The role involves a meaningful degree of direct customer engagement. BD-OS exists to enable Rowan's success with hyperscale and AI customers, and that requires this leader to build real fluency and credibility with those customers directly, not solely through internal reporting
