Relocation support is also not provided. Role Purpose: The purpose of this role is to provide essential logistical and administrative support to the Teaching Operations team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily teaching activities. The role plays a key part in maintaining readiness and responsiveness in the teaching environment, contributing to a high-quality learner and teacher experience. Main Accountabilities: We are looking for a proactive, organised and enthusiastic Young Learners and Operations Assistant to join our Teaching Centre team in Bulgaria. Reporting to the Teaching Operations Manager or Teaching Operations Coordinator, the Young Learners and Operations Assistant will provide hands-on logistical and administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of daily teaching operations. Working closely with teachers and operational colleagues, the postholder prepares classrooms, organises teaching materials, supports teaching delivery, and contributes to providing an outstanding learning experience for our young learners. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring teaching spaces are fully prepared before classes begin by setting up classrooms in line with British Council standards, arranging furniture and equipment, preparing teaching resources, and carrying out venue readiness checks. They will support the day-to-day operational needs of teaching staff by distributing learning materials, responding to routine requests, performing basic troubleshooting of classroom interactive whiteboards, and escalating technical issues to the IT Technician when required. The role includes a wide range of administrative and operational responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records, updating databases, scanning, filing, archiving documents, preparing administrative paperwork, and supporting the Marketing Officer with records of promotional materials. The postholder will assist with the organisation and delivery of teaching, registration activities, and internal and external events, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with British Council procedures. Supporting a safe, welcoming and well-organised learning environment is central to this role. The Young Learners and Operations Assistant will monitor the movement of young learners during classes to ensure they remain safe on the premises, recognise and report safeguarding, behaviour management or operational concerns, and support health and safety procedures through routine checks and timely reporting. The role also involves monitoring the cleanliness and presentation of classrooms and public areas, reporting maintenance issues to the Business Operations team, coordinating with contractors and suppliers, acting as the point of contact for deliveries to the Teaching Centre, and ensuring teaching resources, equipment and stock are available and ready for use. The successful candidate will be able to plan and prioritise their workload, respond effectively to changing operational requirements, and build positive working relationships with colleagues, teachers, suppliers and customers. They will communicate confidently across teams to ensure the smooth coordination and delivery of teaching and operational activities while contributing to a positive and efficient working environment. We are looking for someone with experience in administrative, operational or customer service support, excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team. Experience working in a multicultural or international organisation is desirable, together with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and managers to deliver high-quality professional services. Experience working with children or in an educational environment would be an advantage.
