The DoubleTree by Hilton Canton Downtown is seeking a highly qualified and skilled Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our Award-Winning Full-Service Hotel.

As the first of multiple Full-Service Hotels being developed in conjunction with the Hall of Fame Village this is a highly visible and impactful position. The Director of Sales & Marketing will not only lead the DoubleTree by Hilton team, but be called upon for involvement in our future hotel developments, one of which is a Hilton branded Full-Service Tapestry hotel that is in the final approval stage. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hall of Fame Village portfolio the DoubleTree by Hilton Canton Downtown is already a high performing and extremely important asset to the overall development. The ideal candidate will relish involvement with the many stakeholders including Hilton, The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Hall of Fame Village ownership. Our over 11,000 square feet of Banquet and Catering space offers an event footprint that is unmatched in the Canton area. In addition, our signature destination restaurant, the 330 Bar & Grill continues its great success, delivering an exceptional guest experience with its vibrant atmosphere and craveable food & drink. Every year since opening as the Hilton Hotel Conversion of the Year in 2020 our Team has achieved a pinnacle brand or company award for our excellence in customer and event service. The Director of Sales & Marketing will be an Executive Committee member working closely with the General Manager and peer group to be a strong whole hotel minded leader. Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sales and marketing operating budget in accordance to the hotels business plan. 
  • Manage the sales process and coordinate leads as needed  
  • Proactive and continuous sales efforts 
  • Development, maintenance and implementation of sales action plans. 
  • Monitor competitor production and sales/marketing activities 
  • Negotiating, detailing and administration of required documents for group rooms and related events.
  • Direct supervision of the sales, catering and conference services staff  
  • Ensure appropriate rates and room blocks are offered to maximize market performance  
  • Hold regular meetings with sales staff to measure performance, establish pro-active sales action plans and communicate goals and sales action plans 
  • Negotiate group and company contracts with in approved Crestline guidelines 
  • Manage RFPs process to maximize market account production 
  • Identifies marketing opportunities and executes marketing plan 
  • Tracks marketing initiatives and measures ROI   
  • Implementation of marketing franchise sales, training, and facilitation of revenue increasing strategies by utilizing brand initiatives and tools. 
  • Ensures Business Plan and related action plans are executed as established 
  • Involved in revenue management process.
  • Create performance notes for rollup discussion to ownership
  • A passion for Hotel Sales coupled with a competitive, a hunter mentality!
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Four Year College or University) preferred: or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of Hotel Sales and Comp Sets with a proven track record of success
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written – your ability to communicate and influence by word and writing is a must
  • Strong understanding of how to best sell and market banquet and catering revenue and how to forecast it accurately
  • Premium branded, lifestyle, or independent hotel experience (Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, or IHG), especially with in the full-service hotel space and/or conference centers
  • Computer Skills – you must have the ability to communicate effectively through email as well as manipulate and analyze information quickly from spreadsheets and databases
  • Knowledge of Hotel Computer Systems to include brand-specific systems (Delphi, CI/TY, etc.)
