The Carrier Representative is responsible for providing capacity solutions to support our customer’s truckload shipping needs. This position handles a wide range of duties including, capacity sourcing, rate negotiation and problem resolution.

  • Develop strong carrier relationships to ensure high levels of service and communication
  • Source daily capacity utilizing multiple resources (i.e. phone/email, posting boards, etc.) to effectively execute customer shipments
  • Manage daily communication with carrier base, including rate negotiations, shipment requirements, and load tendering
  • Obtain and enter carrier quotes and capacity into the system
  • Initiate any and all tracking integrations (Macropoint, EDI, Project 44, etc.)
  • Develop spot and long-term strategies with carriers by identifying their capacity needs and matching those needs with consistent opportunities
  • Must operate within the Truck Brokerage Rules of Engagement
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or management preferred
  • Solid understanding of transportation and logistics principles, and supply chain network behavior
  • Strong understanding of brokerage markets and cyclical market dynamics
  • Experience with DAT, Internet Truck Stop, and other predictive market resources
  • Experience operating LinkedIn sales navigator is strongly preferred
  • Experience within AS300 programs, and Oracle are preferred
  • Experience within Microsoft Word, Excel and OneNote are preferred
  • 0-3 years of B2B sales and/or account management experience. Preferably within the supply chain industry
  • Self-starter, and ability to work autonomously on accounts from end to end
