As a Technical Sales Consultant, you'll play a critical role in GTA's Business Success Center by providing technical leadership that ensures customer solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and delivered on time. You'll serve as the technical partner to our commercial teams throughout the entire sales cycle. Other job functions include:

Pre-Sales Technical Support:

  • Participate in customer discovery sessions with Account Managers.
  • Translate customer business needs into clear technical requirements and recommended solutions.
  • Develop and present customer-facing technical materials, solution diagrams, and technical overviews.

Solution Design and Validation:

  • Design complete end-to-end solutions for services including:
    • Fiber
    • Dedicated Internet Access (DIA)
    • Ethernet
    • Hosted PBX
    • Digital TV
    • Managed security solutions
  • Perform feasibility assessments and partner with Engineering on non-standard builds or diverse routing requests.
  • Ensure all solution designs comply with GTA network standards, BSC policies, and best practices.

Quoting and Pricing Inputs:

  • Collaborate with the CEC Pricing team to validate cost, margin, and design assumptions.
  • Provide technical inputs including drop distances, fiber availability, CPE requirements, IP addressing, and cross-connect needs.
  • Support RFP responses with technical write-ups, architecture descriptions, and solution diagrams.

Order Quality and Handoff:

  • Own the technical integrity of solutions prior to provisioning.
  • Deliver complete technical packages, design summaries, and installation notes to BSC order coordinators and Operations teams.
  • Reduce order fallout, redesigns, and scheduling delays through clean, accurate technical documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, NOC, and Field Operations to ensure seamless execution of customer solutions.
  • Participate in funnel reviews, design checkpoints, and activation readiness discussions.
  • Support customer calls, technical presentations, and solution reviews as needed.

General Duties:

  • Support continuous improvement of technical sales processes, documentation standards, and solution consistency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support business objectives and customer success initiatives.



Candidates must show

  • Ability to promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
  • Product/Service knowledge: Remains up to date on the latest services and products we provide and has a clear understanding of how each work. Working knowledge of telecom network offerings such as Ethernet, TDM, DSL and Wireless access providers also required.
  • Customer centric: Puts the customer first and creates a positive experience for the customer by building relationships and maximizing service/product offerings. Stays current with knowledge of products clients require and can foresee their future technology needs
  • Accountability: Punctual and dependable to meet the needs of our customers. Has the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Has the ability to assess an issue, provide creative solutions, and analyze if the solution was viable.
  • Organizational support: Ability to follow company policies and procedures in accordance with contract/agreement(s) and Company Goals, completes administrative tasks thoroughly, accurately, promptly, and efficiently as possible with respect to human resources, financial management and profitability.
  • Technical skills: Constantly strives to increase technical knowledge to improve training tools through latest product knowledge, industry knowledge, and research.
  • Growth and Learning: Is curious and understands that learning is a lifelong endeavor. You own your learning and development, and you are committed to evolving.

 

This is what you need to have: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, network engineering, or a telecommunications-related role.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications and networking technologies, including fiber, IP networking, Ethernet, and voice services.
  • Proven experience translating customer requirements into technical solutions and service designs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation, solution diagrams, and design summaries.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and quality.
  • Must possess a valid Guam Driver’s License and be willing to travel to various locations.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a service provider or carrier environment, particularly supporting business or government customers.
  • Hands-on experience with Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Hosted PBX, managed security, and Ethernet services.
  • Familiarity with RFP responses, technical proposals, and solution architecture documentation.
  • Knowledge of network feasibility analysis, diverse routing, and non-standard builds.
  • Experience working with pricing, margin analysis, or cost modeling teams.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing technical presentations and executive-level discussions.
