Purpose of the role
The Bid Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end coordination and delivery of high‑quality, client‑focused bids, proposals and presentations for existing and prospective clients.
Working closely with the Chief Growth Officer, Chief Client Officers, the VP Client Engagement community, Business Development, Solutions and other senior stakeholders, the role ensures that pursuit responses are completed on time, to a high standard of quality, and in line with brand, sales frameworks and best practice.
Through strong written communication, effective coordination and attention to detail, the Bid Manager adds value to each pursuit by helping to shape win themes, tailoring content to the agreed pursuit strategy, and driving consistency and quality across all submissions.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate the end‑to‑end bid and proposal process for assigned pursuits, ensuring all responses are delivered on time, to a high standard of quality, and in line with brand and sales best practice
Work closely with Client Engagement, Business Development, Solutions and subject‑matter experts to gather, develop and refine content for proposals, presentations and RFx responses
Create, adapt and tailor written and visual content to reflect client requirements, scope and evaluation criteria
Arrange, prepare for and chair bid kick‑off and progress meetings, maintaining clear response schedules, actions and accountability
Manage contribution reviews, proofreading and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency and clarity across all submissions
Champion best practice within the bid process, including maintaining accurate pipeline records and supporting qualification and prioritisation activities
Use established tools, templates and content libraries to support efficient collaboration and delivery
Work closely with offshore or remote support teams to coordinate inputs and maintain quality standards
Contribute to management information and reporting on bid activity, quality and performance where required
Collaborate with the wider growth function to embed and refine best practices, drive consistency and support the rollout of new initiatives that drive efficiency and competitive advantage through new business processes with an ongoing focus on leveraging AI within the function
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
Advanced written English skills, with the ability to create, refine and tailor clear, concise and client‑focused written content
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across Client Engagement, Business Development, Solutions and other stakeholders
Experience coordinating bids, proposals or similar complex documents within fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments
Ability to interpret client requirements, scopes and evaluation criteria and translate these into structured, compliant responses
Experience working within remote, multi‑regional teams; experience working with offshore support teams is desirable
Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
High attention to detail, with a commitment to quality, accuracy and consistency across all outputs
Commercial awareness sufficient to support proposal development, including coordination of pricing and commercial model inputs
Confidence using standard bid tools, templates and content libraries, and core productivity tools (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Comfortable operating in a high‑energy, time‑pressured environment, with resilience and adaptability under pressure
