Account Manager (m/f/d) – Research/ Higher Education

North Germany (Hamburg/Hannover/Bremen/ Berlin)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in key account management skills, including forecasting, C-level engagement, ROI analysis, account penetration, planning, mapping, power-based selling, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Identify, develop, and close opportunities within the Higher Education Sector Accounts in the North Region of Germany.

  • Promote the entire range of Huawei Technologies solutions including Datacenter Storage, Datacenter Network, Campus Network and WLAN.

  • Execute on existing and negotiate new frame contracts on both state level and public research societies.

  • Attend industry events, technology forums, and industry presentations to enhance the company's market presence and brand awareness in the assigned vertical.

  • Coordinating activities between Huawei and the customer including vertical round tables and industry specific workshops.

  • Understand and respond effectively to customer needs, while identifying new business opportunities within the vertical industry.

  • Implementation of business plans, focusing on the successful penetration of new markets.

  • Provide insights on competitive offerings, prospect needs, and contribute ideas for the development of product and solutions portfolios.

  • Take ownership of the sales and marketing functions for the Key Accounts, ensuring effective strategies and execution.

  • Drive initiatives to increase revenue and profit, aligning with the Company's ambitious growth targets.

  • Demonstrate leadership, initiative, and motivation within the team.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and uphold brand integrity.

  • Provide valuable customer and market insights and feedback.

  • Ensure proper handover and collaborate with the team, leverage organizational resources such as Presales, Services, and Channel teams.

Requirements

  • More than 6 years ICT account sales experience.

  • Experience in working with key account customers within the Higher Education/Research or similar Public sector, including C-level, IT and procurement departments as well as project teams would be an advantage.

  • Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions is preferred.

  • Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business.

  • Fluency in German and English.

  • Eligible to work within the EU.
