Steve Madden is seeking a Senior Manager, Amazon Account Management to lead the commercial strategy and performance of an assigned brand portfolio across Amazon. This is a high-impact role responsible for driving revenue, profitability, assortment, inventory, and overall account growth, while serving as a strategic business partner to Amazon and internal cross-functional teams.

The Senior Manager will own the Amazon business from strategy through execution, developing annual and seasonal plans that align brand priorities with Amazon's platform, consumer behavior, and commercial opportunities. This individual will have a strong understanding of the Amazon ecosystem, operate with a P&L mindset, and use data and market insights to identify opportunities, solve challenges, and drive sustainable growth.

The role will partner closely with Marketing, BI, Sales, Merchandising, Planning, and other cross-functional teams, while also managing relationships with Amazon Vendor Managers and external partners. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, move quickly in a fast-paced environment, and confidently influence stakeholders at all levels.

This role is based in our Long Island City headquarters and requires an on-site presence four days per week.

  • Own the overall Amazon business strategy and P&L for an assigned brand portfolio, with accountability for revenue, profitability, sell-through, inventory productivity, and growth.
  • Develop and execute annual, seasonal, and long-range account strategies aligned with brand objectives and Amazon's retail calendar.
  • Identify opportunities to expand assortment, improve productivity, increase traffic and conversion, and develop new avenues for profitable growth.
  • Lead joint business planning with Amazon Vendor Managers, building strategic relationships and negotiating promotional opportunities, co-op funding, selection expansion, and other commercial initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor account goals, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and performance gaps and developing action plans to address them.
  • Present business performance, strategic recommendations, and forward-looking plans to senior leadership.
  • Lead assortment strategy for assigned brands, leveraging customer insights, sales trends, inventory levels, and style-level performance to inform product and lifecycle decisions.
  • Oversee new item launches and catalog readiness, ensuring products are positioned for maximum visibility and commercial performance.
  • Maintain accountability for catalog health, content quality, variations, and listing performance, leveraging internal resources, automation, and agency partners for execution.
  • Partner with Planning, Merchandising, Sales, and BI to optimize inventory, identify demand opportunities, and minimize out-of-stock and excess inventory exposure.
  • Ensure Amazon-specific requirements and operational processes are effectively managed while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Partner closely with Marketing to develop integrated strategies that connect assortment, content, promotions, media, and consumer demand.
  • Ensure PDPs, brand stores, creative assets, and content are optimized to support conversion and brand presentation.
  • Collaborate on Amazon retail media strategy, including Prime Day, seasonal events, promotional periods, and other key traffic-driving opportunities.
  • Evaluate the impact of media investment and promotional activity on overall account performance and profitability.
  • Partner with internal creative and marketing teams and external agencies to ensure priorities, assets, timelines, and performance objectives are aligned.
  • Own the performance management process for assigned brands, establishing a clear view of revenue, traffic, conversion, advertising, inventory, profitability, and other key business KPIs.
  • Translate data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations, identifying what is driving performance and where intervention is required.
  • Lead weekly and monthly business reviews, providing leadership with concise performance updates, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Develop post-event and seasonal recaps that evaluate results against expectations and translate learnings into future strategies.
  • Partner with BI to evolve reporting and dashboards, ensuring the team has the right information to make timely and informed decisions.
  • Use customer, marketplace, competitive, and performance data to challenge assumptions and identify incremental growth opportunities.
  • Serve as a senior Amazon subject-matter expert and strategic partner across Marketing, Merchandising, Planning, Sales, BI, Creative, and other business functions.
  • Establish clear priorities, timelines, and accountability across cross-functional partners to ensure initiatives move from strategy through execution.
  • Lead and influence external agency and platform partners, holding partners accountable to agreed-upon deliverables and business objectives.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, sharing Amazon expertise, best practices, and commercial insights.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • 7+ years of experience in Amazon account management, e-commerce, digital retail, or a related commercial function, with demonstrated ownership of a significant Amazon business.
  • Strong experience with Amazon Vendor Central and/or Seller Central, including account management, assortment, catalog, promotions, inventory, and Vendor Manager relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience managing P&L, revenue, profitability, forecasting, and commercial performance.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute account strategies that drive measurable revenue and profit growth.
  • Strong understanding of Amazon's retail ecosystem, customer journey, merchandising, promotions, and marketplace dynamics.
  • Highly analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build credible partnerships with Amazon and internal senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present business performance and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ownership and bias for action; comfortable identifying problems, making decisions, and driving solutions with limited direction.
