Avondale Terminal Services has become integral to HOST’s continued efforts of shifting the transportation paradigm and rethinking how cargo moves – providing exceptional service and solutions to our customers.  

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage documentation, including work orders, vessel files, manifests, bills of lading, and delivery orders for routing materials.  
  • Responsible for all daily handling of paper and electronic documentation, including review, tracking, scanning, filing, maintenance, and retrieval of departmental documents. 
  • Conduct data entry and maintain effective telephone communications.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers. 
  • Process vessel documentation and manage document controls efficiently, ensuring timely completion of Bills of Lading (BOLs), Storage Confirmations, Packing List and Coil List.
  • Assist the Scheduling Manager with document management in SharePoint, including maintaining vessel, barge, and terminal packing lists.
  • Assist the Scheduling Manager with any communications to customers and vendors regarding operational updates during holidays, weekends, and off-hours.
  • Assist the Traffic Manager as needed with the responsibilities at Scale House and Gate 5.
  • Process and fulfill truck documentation within internal system, as needed.
  • Candidate must be proactive, flexible, and a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple activities in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Must be able to manage the varied tasks associated with multiple projects. 
  • Superb organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize, work independently, be extremely detail-oriented, and be forward-thinking. 
  • Possess strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as inventory system software/
  • Preferred: Degree in supply chain and logistics or relative fields
