We’re looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow a high-demand energy technology solution across the UK commercial market. This is a genuine new business role with uncapped commission, strong market demand and the backing of both Consultus and GridDuck.
At Consultus, we help organisations use energy better, which means lowering costs, reducing carbon and making sense of complex estates in a way that works in the real world.
In this role, you’ll focus on growing our strategic partnership with GridDuck, an energy management platform helping commercial organisations reduce energy waste, lower costs and improve building performance across their estates.
Demand for energy visibility and cost reduction solutions continues to grow, creating a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys building pipeline, opening doors and closing business.
Responsibilities
~1 min readYour focus will be winning new business for GridDuck across the UK commercial market.
In practice, that means:

Owning the full sales cycle, from first conversations through to close

Identifying and engaging new decision-makers, building momentum and guiding opportunities through to close

Having commercially focused conversations around energy cost reduction, operational performance and carbon outcomes

Working closely with GridDuck’s technical specialists to shape the right solution for each client

Building and managing a realistic pipeline, and being accountable for your results
You’ll be measured on delivery and impact, not activity for activity’s sake. You’ll probably enjoy this role if you like opening doors, building momentum and winning business. There’s support around you, but you’ll also have the autonomy to run your pipeline properly and be rewarded for results.
GridDuck is an IoT-led energy management platform designed specifically for commercial buildings. It gives organisations clear, real-time insight into electricity, gas and water usage, without the cost or complexity of traditional building management systems.
This is a solution that resonates strongly with clients. With energy costs remaining high and carbon targets under increasing scrutiny, organisations are actively looking for practical ways to reduce waste, improve visibility and take greater control of their buildings without adding unnecessary complexity.
You don’t need a background in energy or sustainability, although experience there would be useful.
You will need to be someone who:
Has solid experience in B2B new business sales
Is comfortable owning the full sales process and being accountable for targets
Enjoys selling solutions rather than off-the-shelf products
Can build credibility with senior decision-makers
Is motivated by results, ownership and the opportunity to increase earnings through performance
This role will suit someone who enjoys the chase, closing deals and being trusted to get on with it.

Uncapped commission structure with realistic first-year OTE of 50%+ of base salary
