About the Role
~1 min readAre you a natural connector who knows how to turn relationships into business opportunities? Do you thrive on building a network, creating new opportunities, and driving revenue through persistence, creativity, and strong sales instincts?
We're seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to serve as an Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC) for a growing property restoration organization in the South Puget Sound area.
In this highly independent, field-based role, you'll develop relationships throughout the community, identify new business opportunities, and respond to fire and property emergencies to connect property owners with the restoration services they need.
This is a business development role with a strong sales and closing component. Success requires more than networking and relationship management. You'll need the confidence to pursue new business, navigate competitive situations, overcome objections, and secure agreements when opportunities arise.
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, resourceful, highly motivated, and comfortable operating in an environment where initiative and results matter more than a traditional office schedule.
If you're an experienced business development professional who enjoys creating your own opportunities, building a valuable network, and being rewarded for your success, we'd love to connect.
Responsibilities

- →Establish and maintain relationships with fire departments, first responders, insurance professionals, property managers, and other community stakeholders.
- →Identify new referral opportunities and build a strong network of relationships that generate restoration business.
- →Proactively prospect for new opportunities rather than relying on inbound leads.
- →Monitor emergency notification systems and respond quickly to fire and property damage incidents throughout the territory.
- →Meet with affected homeowners and commercial property owners, assess their immediate needs, communicate restoration solutions, and secure signed agreements.
- →Develop creative approaches to building relationships, navigating competitive environments, and uncovering new business opportunities.
- →Independently manage your territory, business development activities, sales pipeline, and follow-up efforts.
- →Collaborate with restoration and operations teams to ensure customers receive a seamless experience from initial contact through project execution.
- →Maintain accurate CRM records and demonstrate accountability for sales activities, emergency response, and revenue generation.
- Proven outside sales or business development experience involving direct prospecting, new business generation, and closing sales.
- Demonstrated success building professional relationships that lead to measurable revenue opportunities.
- A strong hunter mentality with the ability to independently identify and pursue new business.
- Experience navigating competitive sales environments, handling objections, and securing customer commitments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- A high level of self-motivation, independence, and personal accountability.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop creative strategies and solve problems without constant direction.
- Confidence engaging with decision-makers and building trust quickly.
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to communicate compassionately in difficult situations.
- Ability to adapt quickly, remain composed under pressure, and make sound decisions.
- Willingness to respond to emergency opportunities during evenings, overnight hours, and weekends.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, mobile technology, and other sales tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Experience in restoration, insurance, construction, property management, or emergency services is beneficial but not required. We value proven business development and outside sales success over specific industry experience.
