This is a key role supporting the team on site, as a highly organised and professional front-of-house ambassador ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of reception, administration, and site coordination.

You will be the first point of contact for visitors, contractors, and staff, maintaining a welcoming yet secure environment while supporting a range of operational and administrative functions.

Known across the globe at our Birkenhead facility, on the banks of the River Mersey we expand across 130 acres which includes four dry docks, a large modular construction hall and extensive covered workshops.

We’ve played a strategic role in UK shipbuilding for the past 200 years, repairing, maintaining and building ships and other vessels.

  • Reception & Front of House greeting and manage all visitors, ensuring a professional and positive first impression. You’ll coordinate with security to manage site access, visitor logs, and compliance procedures as well as provide refreshments for visitors and meetings
  • You’ll organise visitor (PPE), ensuring availability and compliance
  • You will provide some administrative support to the Managing Director as well as assist the Senior Leadership Team with coordination tasks
  • When meeting rooms are needed, you’ll organise and maintain them including setup
  • You’ll support with SLT travel including transport and accommodation
  • Overseeing some of the internal communications such as notices, announcements, and updates you’ll display wheat is needed where its needed

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a reception, administrative, or office coordination role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, approachable, and proactive attitude
  • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Familiarity with health & safety or industrial environments would be good but we can teach you that
  • IT and reporting skills as well as the ability to communicate at all levels of the business whether verbal or written
  • A full UK Driving Licence will be useful due to the size of the facility
