The Archdiocese of Washington is hiring an Administrative Assistant to support the work of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry leadership team. This role will support the Director and two Assistant Directors as they coordinate the Church's outreach to Youth and Young Adults across the Archdiocese.
This position will report to the Director and will work at the Pastoral Center in Hyattsville Maryland.
Provide exceptional administrative support to the Director and Assistant Directors in the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. The Administrative Assistant will handle a diverse set of administrative tasks for this new department, arranging meetings, and responding to correspondence. The ability to multi-task, focus on detail and maintain confidentiality is essential.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide administrative support to the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry including greeting visitors, answering calls, distributing daily mail, drafting correspondence and arranging and confirming meetings and events with the Archdiocese and Parishes.
- →Respond to emails as appropriate.
- →Work with other leaders in the Pastoral Center and throughout the Archdiocese.
- →Attend meetings as required to provide administrative support, note-taking, and ensure follow-up tasks are completed.
- →Assist with special projects.
- →Manage daily calendar for the team.
- →Review, draft and edit letters, reports, and memos.
- →Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements

- Effective team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong leadership ability and proven ability to manage others.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under time sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Proficiency in suite of Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing and supports the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3 or more years of experience in an administrative role; or an equivalent combination of education/experience required.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The pay rate for this role is $28.00 to $35.00 per hour
