The client operates in the sports technology and digital media space, helping major sports organizations create, publish, and optimize content at scale. The company works at the intersection of content operations, technology, automation, analytics, and AI-powered solutions.

We are looking for a highly proactive and execution-oriented Strategic Account Operations Manager to own the day-to-day operational success of a major enterprise client relationship.

This is not a traditional Account Manager or Account Director role. While this person will serve as a key point of contact for client stakeholders, the primary focus is operational leadership, project delivery, and cross-functional execution.

The ideal candidate is an operator first and relationship manager second. They should be comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment, managing ambiguity, coordinating across product and engineering teams, and independently driving complex initiatives from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operational lead for a major enterprise account.
  • Build trusted relationships with multiple client stakeholders.
  • Understand client objectives, priorities, workflows, and upcoming initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery, strengthen the relationship, and support account growth.
  • Translate client requests into actionable project plans, product requirements, and execution steps.
  • Scope new features, enhancements, and custom development requests.
  • Coordinate closely with Product, Engineering, Leadership, and Client teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Drive projects from inception through delivery while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Track timelines, dependencies, risks, blockers, and deliverables.
  • Act as the central point of coordination across internal teams.
  • Align client expectations with technical execution.
  • Remove blockers and proactively solve operational challenges.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and at a high standard.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the client’s business objectives and operational needs.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions.
  • Maintain strong professionalism and credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Help identify additional opportunities for account expansion and improved client outcomes.
  • Build and improve processes that increase efficiency, visibility, and execution quality.
  • Use data, reporting, and client feedback to continuously improve outcomes.
  • Leverage AI tools and modern productivity platforms to improve speed, clarity, and decision-making.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, project management, product operations, account operations, client services, consulting, implementation, or a similar execution-focused role.
  • Proven experience managing complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience working directly with external clients or senior stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to independently drive projects from concept to completion.
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup, SaaS, technology, digital media, or product-led environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with executives, clients, engineers, product teams, and leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder management and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and solving complex operational challenges.
  • Strong ownership mindset and bias toward action.
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms to improve productivity and decision-making.
  • Strong proficiency with modern collaboration, documentation, and project management tools.

  • Former founder, startup operator, Chief of Staff, Operations Manager, Product Operations professional, Implementation Lead, or Client Delivery Manager.
  • Experience working with SaaS, technology, digital media, sports technology, or product-led businesses.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level client relationships.
  • Familiarity with sports, professional basketball, fan engagement, digital content, or media operations.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership, including CEO, CTO, Product, or Engineering leaders.

The ideal candidate is a strong operator who can manage complex client needs, coordinate internal execution, and keep projects moving without needing constant direction.

They should be able to take a client request, clarify scope, define priorities, coordinate with internal teams, track progress, flag risks, and ensure successful delivery.

This person should be proactive, highly organized, confident in client-facing conversations, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with high autonomy and accountability.
