Core Laboratory Administrative Specialist
Quick Summary
High School diploma or GED. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Position Summary:
Answers and transfers all phone calls into the laboratory to the appropriate departments. Records, maintains and distributes information both within and outside of the hospital to other medical facilities, by means of faxing, scanning, mailing, etc. Handles all consultation send-outs. Participates in some clerical specimen processing functions, including packaging and shipping of material. Oversees core laboratory inventory and service contracts. Ensures appropriate patient billing through daily audits and reconciliation of the billing audit report. Organizes and codes accounts payable invoices.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
