Position Summary:

Join the School of Education and Health Sciences as a Senior Administrative Assistant!

The Senior Administrative Assistant coordinates all departmental functions for the Department of Counselor Education and Human Services (EDC). This role supports the department chair, faculty, and adjuncts with all administrative needs and oversees the department's day-to-day operations. This position provides direct supervision of the department's workflow including supervision of graduate student workers.

In addition, the position coordinates the admission process for graduate programs offered by the department and schedules classes by working with the chair and faculty to provide efficient and effective programs and advising. The Senior Administrative Assistant, through understanding of department and organizational operations and procedures, assists students and others by solving concerns relating to scheduling, advising and admission.

The Department of Counselor Education and Human Services develops practitioners committed to promoting individual and community growth. EDC contains four (4) graduate-level programs and a combination of online and in-person courses. Currently, there are 8 full-time faculty and 45 adjunct faculty. This department, in addition to an on-campus location, also extends to a satellite location in the Columbus area.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED
- Four (4) years of office experience
- Basic budget skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
- Proven excellence in multitasking, prioritizing and detail orientation
- Ability to work well as a team member with honesty and integrity

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Experience supervising student emplolyees and part-time staff
- Proficiency with systems specific to the University of Dayton such as Banner, Salesforce, DegreeWorks, Courseleaf, CIM, PIM and Cognos
- Experience providing administrative support in an academic setting
- Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Affinity for the values central to the Marianist environment, including inclusive excellence
