This is a Position Specific recruitment for Worcester County Assessments & Taxation Office only. The resulting eligible list will be used to fill positions at the above locations only.�\r\n\r\n\r\nRecruitment is limited to current State Department of Assessments and Taxation employees only.�\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

Responsible for all clerical operations within the County Assessment Office subject to the supervision of the Supervisor of Assessments.

POSITION DUTIES

Interacts with the General Public in a timely and courteous manner, providing 97% accurate information. This is to be done to the level and degree that time allows, following office guidelines and state regulations. Adheres to the SDAT Customer Service Promise and related policies. Written correspondence is responded to within 2 days of receipt.�\r\n\r\n\r\nTrains all clerical staff to a level necessary for those employees to functions in efficient manner, following office guidelines and state regulations.�\r\n\r\n\r\nDelegates work to subordinates in a manner which produces the most efficient work flow, following office procedures and guidelines�\r\n\r\n\r\nEvaluates subordinate employees fairly and in a manner designed to improve their performance, following PEP and office procedures and guidelines.�\r\n\r\n\r\nAssists Supervisor in the development and implementation of clerical office policy to best of his/her ability.�\r\n\r\n\r\nOther duties completed in a timely manner as defined by the Supervisor.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\nExperience: Four years of clerical or technical experience in processing assessments records and forms. \r\nNotes:�\r\n1. Candidates may substitute additional experience performing general clerical duties on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required education.\r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in�financial administration and program classification or financial administration and program specialty codes in the accounting and budget field of work on a year-for-year�basis for the required experience.\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

DESIRED OR PREFERRED\r\n\r\n\r\nPreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include a clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\nKnowledge of policies and practices used in a local assessments office;\r\nClerical or technical experience in processing property assessments records and forms;\r\nExcellent verbal/written communication skills;�\r\nExcellent organizational/time management skills;�\r\nExperience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google platforms.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
