Combining hospitality, organization, and a genuine appreciation for the bond between people and their pets, you will help create a welcoming first impression for every client who visits Wooflands Veterinary Center. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you connect pet owners with the care and support they need by coordinating appointments, guiding daily client interactions, and helping maintain a smooth and organized hospital experience. Your professionalism and compassion help build trust and confidence in every visit. This role offers an opportunity to strengthen customer service, veterinary administration, and animal care knowledge while building a foundation for growth within the veterinary profession.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →A welcoming and reassuring experience by greeting clients, coordinating appointments, managing patient arrivals and departures, and helping pet owners feel informed and comfortable throughout their visit
- →Accurate and efficient scheduling by managing reservations, appointment requests, calendars, and daily workflow while balancing client needs and hospital priorities
- →Confidence and trust through professional telephone etiquette, timely communication, and accurate responses to client questions and requests
- →Well-organized patient records by maintaining documentation, updating information, processing forms, and ensuring administrative accuracy throughout the client experience
- →Smooth front-office operations through accurate payment processing, cash handling, transaction management, and attention to financial details
- →Strong connections with clients by sharing appropriate information about services, preventive care, grooming requirements, and available veterinary resources
- →A collaborative and service-focused environment through effective communication with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and fellow associates
- →Operational readiness by supporting additional administrative responsibilities that contribute to patient care, client satisfaction, and hospital performance
- A highly interactive role serving as a primary point of contact for clients and their pets
- Daily collaboration with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and hospital leadership
- An active environment where appointments, client needs, and patient priorities can shift throughout the day
- Frequent use of scheduling systems, computers, telephones, payment systems, and veterinary practice-management tools

Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience required
- Previous front desk, receptionist, hospitality, veterinary, or administrative experience preferred
- Sales experience preferred
- Professional telephone etiquette required
- Knowledge of pet breeds and grooming requirements preferred
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn veterinary software systems
- Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to accurately process transactions
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
