The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative assistance and secretarial support to the department leadership. The position shares in the responsibility for the smooth operations and efficient functioning of the department with minimum of delay or disruption and the maximum of efficiency and effectiveness. The position requires independent problem solving, excellent interpersonal skills, high standards in Customer Relations standards and confidentiality is emphasized in all written and verbal contacts.

§ Able to work a flexible schedule to meet department needs
· Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with other employees, members of the public and Miami Valley Hospital providers and business office
· Manage and direct phone calls as appropriate
· Manage process related to retrieving and reviewing medical imaging results, laboratory results that require phone call and certified letter send to patients
· Maintain all applicable rosters with up-to-date information
· Schedule various department meetings and individual meetings
· Manage preparation of agendas and powerpoint presentation for department meeting
· Record, type and distribute department meeting minutes with accuracy and timeliness
· Monitor office supply budget for administration cost center
§ Able to type 50 words per minute
§ Proficient in Microsoft office applications-especially Word
§ Knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel
